T1 have advanced to Round 2 of the 2026 LCK Playoffs after surviving a dramatic five-game series against BNK FEARX.
The defending world champions were pushed to the brink after losing Games 2 and 3, but recovered from a 1-2 deficit to win the series 3-2. Doran played a central role in the comeback and was named Player of the Match after strong performances on Jayce, Nasus and Kennen.
BNK FEARX put T1 under serious pressure
T1 opened the series with a controlled Game 1 victory, but FEARX responded immediately.
VicLa’s Ahri helped level the match in Game 2 before BFX carried that momentum into the third game and moved onto match point. Suddenly, T1 found themselves one defeat away from dropping into the lower side of the playoff bracket.

Despite the situation, Doran said the team did not panic.

Surprise Nasus pick changes the series
Game 4 became the turning point.
With T1 facing elimination, Doran brought out Nasus in the top lane. The pick was unexpected and gave T1 a different way to approach the matchup, helping them regain control and tie the series 2-2.
Doran’s Nasus pick gave T1 the response they needed at the exact moment their playoff run was under the most pressure.
The top laner said he had prepared carefully around the champion pool of his direct opponent, expecting BNK FEARX to potentially use surprise picks of their own.

The Game 4 win restored T1’s confidence and forced the series into a deciding fifth map.
T1 dominate the final game
After four competitive games, the decider was far less balanced.
T1 quickly established control across the map and closed Game 5 in only 26 minutes. Doran switched to Kennen and once again contributed heavily, while the rest of the roster stepped up across all three lanes.

Doran’s impact across the series earned him the Player of the Match award.
He played Jayce in T1’s opening victory, helped save the series with Nasus in Game 4 and then closed the match on Kennen in Game 5.
He admitted afterward that he had not expected to receive the award, but believed his impact in the final two games likely influenced the decision.
The result also highlights why T1’s experience remains one of their biggest advantages in playoff situations.
Even after losing consecutive games and falling onto match point, the team was able to reset rather than allowing the momentum of the series to completely shift toward FEARX.
FEARX still prove they belong in the playoffs
BNK FEARX may have lost, but the series was another impressive showing from a team that had already survived a difficult Play-In route.
They defeated Nongshim RedForce 3-1 before beating HANJIN BRION 3-2 to secure the final playoff position. Against T1, they then came within one game of completing one of the biggest upsets of the opening round.
Their ability to challenge T1 across five games suggests that the sixth seed should not be dismissed simply because of its lower position entering the postseason.
T1 move deeper into the LCK bracket
The victory sends T1 into Playoffs Round 2 and keeps their upper-bracket run alive.
The result is particularly important because Korea’s remaining Worlds 2026 places will be decided through the postseason. Every additional series victory therefore moves T1 closer not only to the LCK title but also to qualification for the season’s biggest international event.
FEARX, meanwhile, still have another chance due to the double-elimination format.
Assessment
T1’s 3-2 victory was far less comfortable than expected, but that may ultimately make it more valuable.
BNK FEARX forced the reigning world champions into a genuine elimination scenario and exposed weaknesses across Games 2 and 3. T1’s response, however, demonstrated the value of experience in long playoff series.
Doran was the clearest example.
His surprise Nasus pick helped stabilize the matchup when T1 needed a different approach, and his Kennen performance contributed to a dominant deciding game.
T1 will need more consistent performances as the playoffs progress, but recovering from 1-2 down provides another reminder that this roster remains extremely difficult to eliminate once a best-of-five reaches its decisive stages.
