Popular streamer Dennis “Cloakzy” Lepore has parted company with Esports organization FaZe Clan following contract a dispute over his contract. The American joined FaZe back in March 2018, when he was made captain of their Fortnite roster. However, his spell with the North American org has now come to an end, with the retired pro having broken the news on his Twitter page on Wednesday.

How Cloakzy Broke the News of His Departure

The 25-year-old made his name in Fortnite, before switching to Call of Duty: Warzone, amassing a following of some 2.5 million on Twitch. However, Cloakzy will now likely be looking for a new organization, having posted the following to his 1.5 million followers on Twitter:

“I want to apologize for everything negative I’ve said about FaZe Clan as we worked through my contract. I am grateful for everything they’ve done for me, and am happy we have come to an agreement to part ways. I wish nothing but the best for everyone over at FaZe.”

FaZe and Cloakzy ultimately failed to agree terms on a new contract, an issue that had lone been rumored. It is believed that FaZe had been working on a new deal for the content creator since 2019, however the two parties have now agreed to go their separate ways. It is not the first time FaZe has been involved in a contractual dispute, with Turner “Tfue” Tenney having also parted ways with the org.

What the Future Holds for Cloakzy

Tfue’s contract with FaZe meant that he was unable to secure any lucrative sponsorship deals, while the org also took home 80% of the player’s income. FaZe Clan are yet to make an official announcemnt on the news surrounding Cloakzy, however the streamer will now become a free agent. It is unlikely that he will stay that way however, with some of Esports’ biggest names potentially eyeing up a move for one of the most popular personalities in the business today.

Lepore’s gaming journey began in H1Z1, having competed for Team KnightsGG. He also broke the world record for the most eliminations in a single Fortnite match at the beginning of 2018, with 34.
