Spirit have won BLAST Open Porto 2026 after defeating MOUZ 3-1 in the Grand Final, securing their second consecutive international title.
The world No. 1 side entered the final looking for revenge after losing to MOUZ in the BLAST Bounty Season 2 final just over a month earlier. This time, Spirit controlled most of the series, taking Dust2, Ancient and Nuke to close out the best-of-five.
The victory follows their Esports World Cup triumph and strengthens Spirit’s claim as the team to beat at the top of Counter-Strike 2.
Spirit strike first on Dust2
The Grand Final opened on Dust2, where Spirit immediately targeted one of MOUZ’s weaker defensive areas.
MOUZ initially found some resistance around the B site, but Spirit continued applying pressure until the defense began to break down. PR and Spinx both struggled to contain the repeated attacks, while xelex also had limited impact compared with his earlier tournament form.
- Spirit took Dust2 13-8
- sh1ro delivered a strong opening map
- MOUZ struggled to stabilize its B defense
- Spirit moved one map ahead in the best-of-five
The opening win gave Spirit control of the series and prevented MOUZ from building the kind of early momentum they had shown in previous playoff matches.
MOUZ produce dramatic Mirage comeback
Mirage initially looked like it might become another Spirit victory.
sh1ro remained in excellent form and helped Spirit establish an 11-4 advantage. At that stage, MOUZ were only two rounds away from falling 0-2 behind.
Instead, they produced the strongest comeback of the final.
MOUZ won nine consecutive rounds to turn an 11-4 deficit into a 13-11 victory.
| Map | Spirit | MOUZ |
|---|---|---|
| Dust2 | 13 | 8 |
| Mirage | 11 | 13 |
| Ancient | 13 | 3 |
| Nuke | 13 | 6 |
| Series | 3 | 1 |
The comeback temporarily reset the final and showed that MOUZ were still capable of punishing Spirit when given space.
It also meant Ancient would become the pivotal third map.
donk destroys MOUZ on Ancient
Any momentum MOUZ gained from Mirage disappeared almost immediately.
Ancient has become one of Spirit’s strongest maps, and the team entered the final on a 14-map winning streak there.
donk made sure that record continued.
He produced a 2.39 rating on the map as Spirit overwhelmed MOUZ 13-3 and moved within one map of the title.
- Ancient became Spirit’s 15th consecutive win on the map
- donk posted a 2.39 rating
- zont1x contributed a major 1v3 clutch
- MOUZ managed only three rounds
The map was the clearest demonstration of Spirit’s ceiling throughout the final.
After being relatively quiet during the early stages of the series, donk took over at exactly the point where Spirit needed him most.
zont1x helps Spirit close Nuke
Nuke became the final map of BLAST Open Porto.
MOUZ still had an opportunity to force a fifth map after winning the second-half pistol, but Spirit refused to allow another comeback similar to Mirage.
zont1x played an especially important role.
The returning rifler delivered several crucial rounds, including a Glock sequence that effectively ended MOUZ’s remaining hopes of extending the series.
Spirit eventually closed Nuke 13-6 and completed the 3-1 victory.
sh1ro leads Spirit in the final
While donk produced the most explosive single-map performance, sh1ro finished as Spirit’s highest-rated player across the full Grand Final.
The AWPer ended the series with 70 kills, 42 deaths and a 1.36 Rating 3.0.
donk finished with 73 kills and a 1.28 rating, while tN1R also made a major contribution with a 1.27 rating.
zont1x finished on 1.24 after making several high-impact plays during the closing maps.
For MOUZ, no player finished the series with a rating above 1.00.
Spirit get revenge for BLAST Bounty defeat
The result carries additional significance because of the teams’ recent history.
MOUZ had beaten Spirit in the BLAST Bounty Season 2 final, denying them a trophy during one of the strongest periods of their season.
Porto gave Spirit the opportunity to reverse that result.
They did so convincingly.
Their overall tournament run was equally impressive. Spirit progressed through the group stage without losing a map before beating Falcons in the semifinal and MOUZ in the final.
Back-to-back trophies strengthen Spirit’s position
BLAST Open Porto is now Spirit’s second title in succession after their Esports World Cup victory.
That consistency is particularly important in the ongoing debate around the strongest team in the world.
Players such as zont1x had previously been cautious about describing Spirit as clearly superior to every rival because the team lacked a sustained run of major victories.
Two consecutive trophies significantly strengthen that argument.
Spirit have now turned strong rankings and individual form into repeated event wins.
Assessment
Spirit’s Porto victory is more important than simply adding another trophy.
They beat MOUZ, one of the teams that had recently proven capable of stopping them, and responded immediately after losing Mirage from an 11-4 lead.
The reaction on Ancient was decisive. donk took control, Spirit restored their structure and MOUZ never recovered.
The wider trend is becoming difficult to ignore.
Winning the Esports World Cup followed by BLAST Open Porto gives Spirit the kind of sustained success their players had previously said was still missing. The challenge now shifts from reaching the top to remaining there.
For MOUZ, another deep tournament run confirms they remain one of Spirit’s most credible rivals. Porto, however, belonged clearly to Spirit.
