What makes this news more interesting is the fact that this split was pre-planned and you will be shocked to find the reason why it happened. While Spacestation also planned to leave the Apex Legends scene, this time, they let go of their whole squad.

However, some sources say that these internal problems could’ve stemmed from the poor EWS performance, where the team finished 17th. This must’ve raised a lot of concern for Spacestation Gaming that even after winning a major title, they wanted to part ways. 

This Apex Legend team contained Phony, Xynew, Koyful, and despite Spacestation Gaming ALGS Split 2 Champions success, things just didn’t go well. To make things worse, it is a decision that fans are furious about.

It was revealed by SSG’s CEO Shawn and his tweet where he told us about the problems the organization faced with their Apex Legends crew long before the ALGS Split 2 Lan. The Americans recently secured $300,000 and also a spot to compete at the Apex Legends Global Series 2024 Championship.

However, they can forget as the CEO has some other plans with their Apex roster. According to Shawn, he explained that the team was having an internal issue during the eSports World Cup, which is why they decided to make changes or literally just disband the roster.

But despite their internal conflict, both Spacestation Gaming and the players decided to slay in German because the team was locked for the ALGS Mannheim, which they won with flying colors. Even the team knew before this tournament that were were going to say goodbye forever.

There was another reason behind the team’s disbanding from Spacestation and that was found in their contracts. According to Shawn, the team’s contract was expiring in 2024 and the ALGS Championship was being pushed to 2025.

Naturally, they could reinitiate their contracts but the team itself wanted to let go and keep their options open. These are some of the reasons why Spacestation Gaming separated from ALGS Split 2 champion players. 

Spacestation’s Next Apex Plans 

If you’re wondering if Spacestation is going to abandon Apex Legends forever, that’s not the truth. Rather, the organization is looking to pick up a new team ahead of the ALGS Championship in January 2025. 

In another tweet, Shawn thanked Phony, Xynew, and Koyful for their efforts and wished them good luck. But in the same tweet, he also said that he will be looking for a new team for Worlds and the 2025 season.
