A Mix of Pros and Streamers
The challenge offers a variety of playstyles and strategies by featuring a diverse lineup. Some of the most notable names that fans are excited for are pro players like LEC Legends Vetheo and last year’s SoloQ Challenge Battle champion, SkewMond. Pros that became popular streamers like nuc and 4zr are participants too.
Coming as a pleasant surprise, former Karmine Corps midlaner Saken was announced as the final player to join the list of names. To the delight of fans, the LEC star joined Team Kameto to fight alongside former teammate Caliste.
Besides Saken’s addition, fans also anticipate the performance of last year’s winner, SkewMond, as he defends his title. The new team play format makes things interesting as players must contribute to the team and at the same time progress their individual climb. The interaction between streamers and pros promises exciting moments and potential upsets.
How the Challenge Works
Participants will use fresh accounts provided for the event. Before the main challenge begins, players must complete ten normal games due to an added LOL requirement. Once qualified, they must then grind 25 games a week in a race to climb the ranked ladder. The goal is simple: earn the most LP (League Points) possible within the given timeframe.
Impressive Prize Pool
The SoloQ Challenge Battle’s prize pool consists of rewards for both individual performance and team cooperation. €10,000 is the highest prize which is awarded to the overall top LP scorer while the winning team will have €5,500 split among the members. A €500 prize will also be given to the top player in each role.
Conclusion: A Unique and Promising Event
This promising challenge offers interesting solo and team dynamics, a levelled playing field since the players start from scratch, and the enjoyment of high-level gameplay in a casual setting. As fans see their gaming pro bets mixed in with their favorite streamers, they can also learn from their teamwork and strategies and apply them to their own matches.
The excitement for the SoloQ Challenge Battle continues to build after it officially began on September 4. This fresh take on competitive League of Legends succeeds to win fans over, as the blend of pro-level play with the everyday ranked experience is for fans and casual viewers alike, and makes the event a must-watch for League enthusiasts.
