The Six Invitational 2021 will soon add another team to its star-studded roster. Natus Vincere and Tempra Esports have already been invited to the last phase of the Qualifier. Now, Mkers and Secret are joining them as well. They will enter a Single Elimination bracket, trying to secure the last remaining European SI spot.

ROGUE EXIT EARLY ON

In the Round of 16, Rogue managed to win a one-sided match over ‘renjichimu’. Afterwards, Geo “Geo” Collins and Leon “LeonGids” Giddens joked about Rogue finally winning a match after quite a long time.

Well, it was only funny for a couple of days. In the Quarter Finals already, Rogue fell to Mkers on two decisive maps. The Italian team managed to secure the perfect upset victory. Sasha “Sasha” Michelizzi and Pietro “Scatto” Scattolin earned themselves 1.31 and 1.30 ratings, respectively. On the other camp, not a single Rogue member landed a positive rating, with LeonGids in particular breaking down. So the team’s dreams of making the Six Invitational have gone up in flames. Having slumped ever since the August Major, the team doesn’t look great heading into 2021. On top of that, they will have to enter the EUL Relegation in order to remain in the league. Should they drop out, they will have to wait an entire year to qualify again.

MKERS CARRY THROUGH TO THE GRAND FINALS

The Italians were the biggest surprise in this bracket. Their victory over Rogue might have been due to the latter team under-performing, but then they won over Chaos as well. At that point, it became obvious that they’re definitely a capable and scary roster.

Secret have had a relatively uneventful path through the bracket and got into the Grand Finals almost unscathed. There, Mkers were already lying in wait – the one big question mark in this tournament. After all their victories, it looked as though the Italians could beat almost any team. However, Team Secret put an end to this as Peter “pacbull” Bull and his men dispatched them on two straight maps.

TEAM VITALITY ARE RIGHTFULLY DISAPPOINTED

Fabian “Fabian” Hällsten, former in-game-leader of G2 Esports and now the captain of Team Vitality, took to Twitter to apologize for the state of his team. This is totally understandable, given that the squad has missed both Majors and only been a mid-tier competitor in EUL. This missed SI opportunity now means that the team will have to wait for quite a long while until their next tournament comes along.

The same holds true for Rogue and Chaos. The latter have been hit especially hard, as their organization will drop them in the new year. Unfortunately, Chaos are just not capable anymore of supporting them, so they will be released alongside the CS:GO division.

SECRET AND MKERS IN THE FINALS

The very last stage of the Qualifier is about to commence. Team Secret are facing Tempra Esports, who made third place in EUL Stage 2. Back then, the Frenchmen had successfully booted G2 Esports out of the Top 4 to qualify for the November Major. Now, they’re in similar position and have the opportunity to keep Secret from making the Six Invitational 2021.

Natus Vincere are going up against the great unknown. Even though Mkers have now lost to Secret, they’re still wildly unpredictable. NaVi will barely be able to prepare for them. They will have to trust in their individual skill – but the Chaos and Rogue matches have proven that Mkers pack a lot of talent as well.
