Richard “shox” Papillon, the winner of the DreamHack Winter 2014 Major, has been released by Apeks and is currently without a team. The organization said the Frenchman had been permitted to explore offers from other franchises.

Richard “shox” Papillon will leave Apeks’ active CS:GO lineup and consider other opportunities after only three months with the team. Shox’s departure marks Apeks’ first roster adjustment since the international team withdrew from all competitions at the end of September due to disappointing results and poor performance.

“He will not be a part of our active roster moving forward. This is due to a difference in vision on how to proceed with our in-game team development. Apeks

The announcement from the Norwegian esports organization claims that this move was mutual. Furthermore, Apeks acknowledged that the choice was taken after discovering that the Frenchman did not share Apeks’s perspective on how the squad should move forward. Shox also spoke about the move and said that it was a brief but excellent experience for him. He wished Apeks the best and thanked them for keeping the changeover process smooth and professional.

Shox, who joined Apeks following a dismal run with Team Liquid, was unable to produce any noteworthy performances for the Norwegian organization over the summer. The team’s finest showing this season came at the domestic Fragadelphia 17, where Apeks finished 3rd-4th overall after losing 1-2 to BIG Academy in the semifinal match. The failure of Apeks to qualify for the IEM Road to Rio 2022: Europe RMR after struggling to advance through any of the four open qualifiers was perhaps the icing on the cake for shox.

Furthermore, Shox also lost his illustrious record of attending every Major since the debut of CS:GO as a result of his shocking absence from the crucial IEM Rio Major. Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen, the Danish entry fragger, who has made it to each of the 18 CS:GO Majors, is the only person currently in possession of this record. Shox’s total HLTV rating has decreased to 1.0 during the past three months, while his impact rating has decreased to 0.99.

However, speculation of a potential “French Last Dance” roster with players like Kenny “kennyS” Schrub and Nathan “NBK-” Schmitt certainly emerges as a result of his unexpected departure from Apeks. Shox and Apeks will probably hold off on making decisions about their next moves until after the IEM Rio Major concludes in November.

The Apeks CS:GO roster is as follows without shox:

  • Tim “nawwk” Jonasson
  • Joakim “jkaem” Myrbostad
  • Martin “STYKO” Styk
  • Justinas “jL” Lekavicius
  • Jakub “kuben” Gurczynski (coach)
