This year’s Odyssey Cup will bring together teams from eight regions, which include Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. Each market is currently running national qualifier rounds throughout November. The national qualifier offers an opportunity for players to progress to an international-level event. Qualifiers will aim to ensure teams from a credible and competitive pool of participants have an opportunity for established squads, as well as up-and-coming amateur teams to compete.

Each region’s top-performing teams will qualify for the Odyssey Cup Grand Finale, hosted in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from December 12 to 14. All qualified competing teams will receive travel and accommodation support to ensure access, thus maintaining equality for all competing teams at each stage of the championship. The Odyssey Cup Series has a $50,000 prize pool, which demonstrates Samsung’s commitment to providing real competitive motivations and for that motivation to be visible across regional esports talent.

Promotion of Competitive Gaming Gear

The competition will also showcase Samsung’s latest work in gaming technology. All games will be played on the Odyssey OLED G60SF monitor with a 0.03ms response time and QD-OLED panel. This setup is engineered to minimize visual lag and provide seamless and precise motion needed for first-person shooter games, including Counter-Strike 2. By infusing its hardware directly into the competitive experience, Samsung reinforces its message of consistent performance and highlights the real-world advantages when utilizing its products in high-stakes competitive situations.

The Odyssey Cup is part of Samsung’s ongoing commitment to invest in the development of esports in Southeast Asia and Oceania, both of which are becoming known for their growth in gaming communities. This demonstrated, structured competition, support from the brand, and visibility offer each regional division of Samsung to help build upon the regional talent pipeline and stimulate future growth.
