S2G Esports have won the PUBG Mobile World Cup 2026 after a dramatic final day at the Esports World Cup in Paris.
The Turkish roster finished the Grand Finals with 154 points, surviving a chaotic final match in which several teams still had a path to the championship under the SMASH ruleset.
S2G’s victory marks the organization’s first global PUBG Mobile title since winning the PUBG Mobile Global Championship in 2022. It also secures the team a place at the 2026 PMGC in Türkiye.
S2G recover after difficult opening day
The eventual champions did not start the Grand Finals as the obvious team to beat.
S2G finished the opening day in ninth place while eArena established an early advantage at the top of the standings. Their situation changed dramatically during Day Two.
A 15-elimination Chicken Dinner in Match 8 delivered 25 points and began S2G’s rise through the leaderboard. Strong finishes in the following games pushed the Turkish roster into fourth place before Championship Sunday.

Four teams become eligible under SMASH Rule
eArena finished Day Two with 112 points, setting the initial SMASH threshold at 122.
Once a team passed that total, it became eligible to immediately win the championship by securing a Chicken Dinner in a later match.
The final day eventually produced four eligible teams: S2G Esports, NS RedForce, Aurora Gaming and eArena.

The system created a situation where leaderboard position alone could no longer guarantee the trophy.
By the closing stages, a single Chicken Dinner from any eligible team could have immediately ended the PUBG Mobile World Cup.
Instead, none of them managed to complete the SMASH condition before the tournament reached its final scheduled match.
S2G eliminated early in decisive final game
The last match provided the most dramatic moment of the event.
S2G were eliminated relatively early after an impressive performance from GodLike Esports and SpoweRR. That left the tournament leaders unable to influence the remainder of the match directly.
Their championship hopes depended entirely on what happened elsewhere.
NS RedForce, Aurora and eArena all remained potential threats under the SMASH format. A victory from any eligible rival would have ended S2G’s title challenge immediately.
The crucial developments were:

- Multiple SMASH-eligible rivals remained capable of winning the title
- Tianba ultimately secured the final Chicken Dinner instead
Because Tianba had not met the SMASH requirement, its match victory did not immediately decide the championship.
S2G’s 154-point total therefore remained enough to finish first overall.
Qzz takes FMVP despite missing the title
The championship trophy went to S2G, but the tournament’s standout individual award belonged to Tianba’s Qzz.
Qzz was named PMWC 2026 FMVP after recording 35 eliminations and dealing 6,731 damage during the Grand Finals weekend.
Tianba had already shown considerable strength earlier in the tournament, topping the Survival Stage before reaching the Grand Finals.
The individual award underlines the unusual nature of battle royale competition. The strongest individual statistical performance does not necessarily come from the championship-winning roster, particularly across an 18-match final where positioning and team consistency are equally important.
PMGC qualification secured
The victory also has consequences beyond the World Cup trophy.
S2G earn 130 PMGC Points from the PMWC result, taking their season total to 173 after combining those points with results from the PUBG Mobile Global Open Season 1 Regionals and PMGO Season 1.
That total guarantees the Turkish organization a place at the PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2026 in Türkiye.
S2G will therefore return home later this season with another opportunity to compete for the global title it previously won in 2022.
The Paris victory also gives the organization a permanent place in Esports World Cup history through its championship key and trophy recognition within the EWC Totem.
Assessment
S2G Esports’ PMWC victory demonstrates exactly why the SMASH format creates such unpredictable finishes.
The Turkish roster did not dominate from the opening match. It recovered from ninth place, produced its strongest results during the middle of the Grand Finals and accumulated enough points to place itself among the title contenders when the final-day rules became active.
Even then, the championship remained uncertain until the last moments.
S2G were already eliminated when the deciding circle developed and could only watch as their remaining rivals attempted to end the tournament with a SMASH victory.
None succeeded.
That makes the 154-point championship both a consistency win and a survival story. S2G leave Paris with another global trophy, guaranteed PMGC qualification and their biggest PUBG Mobile result since becoming world champions in 2022.
