The doubts, questions, concerns, and much more continue with the arrival of the supposed Counter-Strike 2. However, every day that passes, it seems that the community is much surer that it is only a matter of time before Valve launches the new game installment based on the Source 2 engine.

However, in the last few days, we have seen how professional gamers have commented on it. This time, the GOAT, Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyljev, said that Source 2 was bait.

S1mple wets himself on the subject and comments on Instagram.

There are more and more comments from players, streamers, presenters, and leakers about the much-rumored CS:GO based on the Source 2 engine. However, s1mple has taken it upon himself to ignite (or calm down) all these presumptions because, on his Twitter account, he shared a dynamic Q&A, and a fan asked him:

“How is Source 2?” was asked in Russian. To which the #1 player in the world, according to HLTV, replied, “There is no Source 2 (for now). The developers haven’t given anyone any Beta version. It was all a bait of professional players and streamers.”

As it has been said several times, it is still unclear when the alleged Counter-Strike 2 will be released. However, renowned journalist Richard Lewis shared some leaks where it was pointed out that the beta of the new game would be launched in late March or early April. In addition, the journalist also mentioned that several players had tested the game at Valve’s facilities in Seattle.

On the other hand, many leaks regarding a new CS:GO based on Source 2 have been rolling on the Internet for a long time. However, in 2023, this has increased, largely due to the information shared by Lewis. For example, a new leak surfaced this morning, March 14, indicating that Source 2 was added to the pre-release branch.

For those who know about programming and this topic, you know that this means that the developers are getting ready to release a version to the market.

S1mple joins other players who have commented on this issue.

Valve and the professional gamers themselves, who, according to Lewis, did test Counter-Strike 2, are the only ones who could give valid information regarding the future of this rumor. However, the community expects graphical changes, some new mechanics, changes in matchmaking, new servers, and the addition of 128-tick servers.

We are all in expectation regarding this topic; many fans are excited and waiting for the official announcement, while s1mple and other players such as Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken and Dzhami “Jame” Ali have given their respective opinions. However, there is no doubt that we must highlight that Twistzz said something similar to s1mple, as he said the community is overreacting to this issue.

As we have mentioned in different opportunities, the best we can do is to wait for the official announcement from Valve. However, we will let you know every piece of information that comes out, be it official, leak, or any comment, through Fragster.com.
