New leaks are fueling speculation around the next playable champion coming to League of Legends. According to reports shared by prominent leaker Big Bad Bear, Riot Games may be preparing to introduce a new character named Locke, complete with a distinctive visual style, an unconventional weapon, and potential ties to ancient Demacian lore.
The information remains unofficial, but the timing aligns closely with Riot’s ongoing Demacia-focused narrative.
A Demacia debut planned for Act 2
Based on the leak, Locke is expected to appear during Act 2 of the Demacia storyline, with internal developer content already being recorded. Sources suggest Riot may begin formally teasing the champion around mid-February, potentially as early as February 16, coinciding with the release of a new League of Legends comic.
That comic is rumored to play a key role in introducing Locke’s background, with in-game reveals following shortly after. While some details may still be subject to internal changes, the structure mirrors Riot’s recent approach to narrative-driven champion releases.
Visual design draws anime comparisons
Visually, Locke is described as a blond-haired man wearing glasses, dressed in a blue shirt, trousers, and a large overcoat. The overall look is said to project a calm, refined presence rather than overt aggression.
The leaker specifically notes strong similarities to Nanami from Jujutsu Kaisen, particularly in silhouette and demeanor. If accurate, this would place Locke among Riot’s more understated champion designs, relying on presence and personality rather than exaggerated armor or weaponry.
A weapon unlike anything seen before
The most intriguing rumor surrounds Locke’s weapon and gameplay concept. He is reportedly designed around the use of “Soul Nails”, a completely new weapon type for League of Legends. His kit is said to involve rituals, seals, and mystical techniques, including references to a so-called “1000 Year Seal.”
According to the leak, these elements may tie into a Primordial Demon, suggesting that Locke’s story could intersect with some of the darkest and most ancient forces in the game’s lore. One especially notable detail is a large white nail, which may have been carved from a weapon shown in the upcoming comic, potentially linking Locke’s abilities directly to external story material.
If true, this would continue Riot’s recent trend of experimenting with unconventional combat styles and deeper mythological themes.
Still a rumor, but confirmation may be close
As with all leaks, the information should be treated cautiously. Riot Games has not confirmed Locke’s existence, name, or role, and details could change before any official announcement.
However, with Demacia’s narrative arc progressing and a comic release reportedly imminent, fans may not have to wait long to see whether Locke is real – and whether League of Legends is about to gain one of its most unusual champions yet.
