Estonian Robin “ropz” Kool of FaZe Clan became the first professional CS:GO player to win the MVP award in the ESL Pro League on three occasions.

There is no doubt that FaZe Clan is star-studded, from the experience of Finn “karrigan” Andersen and Håvard “rain” Nygaard to young talents like ropz, Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken, and Helvijs “broky” Saukants. However, the 23-year-old Estonian player’s performance in this ESL Pro League S17 was fantastic, earning him the MVP for the third time in the tournament.

FaZe Clan and their successful signing of ropz

There is no doubt that the signing of ropz by FaZe Clan is a great success on the part of the organization, as it is one of the best moves they have made in their history. The Estonian star’s talent and great game sense have been fundamental in each of the team’s victories, and, in addition, he has been a decisive player in moments of urgency.

Like that ropz play we just watched, the Estonian delighted us with many of them throughout the ESL Pro League S17. On top of that, he was one of the main pillars for FaZe Clan to win the tournament’s champion trophy and claim the coveted Intel Grand Slam S4. Thanks to this, ropz has broken a record unheard of in CS:GO history.

Ropz is ESL Pro League MVP for a third time

As mentioned, ropz became the first player in CS:GO history to win the MVP award three times in ESL Pro League S17.

The first time the Estonian lifted this award was in season 10 when he was playing for MOUZ and, coincidentally, with karrigan. Then in ESL Pro League S15, he managed to be the tournament MVP by leading FaZe Clan to victory in April 2022. Finally, in the recently finished EPL S17, where ropz helped FaZe claim the Intel Grand Slam S4 that had been elusive for several months for them.

In the Grand Final match between FaZe Clan and Cloud9, ropz was one of the best players on the server. The 23-year-old Estonian managed to shine, especially on the first map, Overpass, with his entry frags. Then, in the rest of the series, he continued to show an exceptional level of play but was supported many times by broky and twistzz. Finally, ropz finished the ESL Pro League with brilliant stats of 361 frags, a K/D of +98, and a Rating of 1.27.

Twistzz also sets a record

After FaZe Clan’s victory in the ESL Pro League S17 and the Intel Grand Slam title, twistzz has become the first player in CS:GO history to win two Intel Grand Slams with different teams. Recall that the Canadian won the titles in 2019 with Team Liquid after the North American outfit won IEM Sydney, DreamHack Masters Dallas 2019, ESL Pro League S9, and ESL One Cologne.
