On October 17, 2025, Rocket League deployed update v2.60 for fixes and improvements to the in-game reporting system and player safety tools. In-game safety measures will now be more streamlined and provide more context for moderation, along with enhancing the safety of the in-game environment.
Chat Reporting Improvements in Rocket League v2.60 Update Player Safety

A highlight with the upgrade would be the ability to report rule violations directly from Game or Party chat. Up to this moment, players had to navigate to a user’s profile to report rule violations. This update allows players to quickly report inappropriate behavior without leaving the current chat room, promoting more immediate reporting and moderation.
Automatic Evidence Submission
Another enhancement with update v2.60 is the ability to automatically submit evidence. If a player submits a text-based report, recent chat messages will automatically combine with the submitted report for Epic Games’ moderation team. This means that reports will have additional information, while also reducing the chance of missing context, and the review team will be able to make a better-informed decision when moderating in-game behavior.

New Reporting Preferences

This update adds two customizable text reporting preferences, now available on the Chat tab:
- Always On: This keeps text reporting on in every Game and Party chat, ensuring coverage is always present.
- Off When Possible: This will keep text reporting off in Party chats when everyone has this preference selected.
Text reporting is still on in all Game chats and a Party chat with at least one participant using Always On by default.
To uphold safety for younger players, any player under 18 will always have text reporting automatically turned on.
Prioritizing Player Safety
These new options reflect Rocket League’s continuous commitment to creating a positive and safe in-game experience. Epic Games is giving players a stronger position in moderating their community by simplifying the reporting process and incorporating evidence automatically. Rocket League continues to build on its support for accountability and safer player experiences in v2.60 by making the reporting process easier for the community to alert misconduct and to continue to uphold respectful play styles.
