The Rocket League tournament at the Esports World Cup 2026 has reached its knockout stage, leaving eight teams in contention for the championship in Paris.
Team Vitality, Karmine Corp, Team Falcons, Twisted Minds, Spacestation Gaming, Shopify Rebellion, Ninjas in Pyjamas eStar and Gentle Mates survived the three-day group stage.
The quarterfinals begin on August 15 before the semifinals, third-place match and grand final decide the champion on August 16. A $400,000 first-place prize and 1,000 Esports World Cup Club Championship points await the winner.
Vitality and Karmine Corp meet in huge French quarterfinal
The biggest quarterfinal from a local perspective puts Team Vitality against defending champion Karmine Corp.
Vitality took the cleaner route through Group A. The team defeated FURIA 3-1 in its opening series before sweeping TSM 3-0 to qualify directly through the upper bracket.
Karmine Corp experienced considerably more turbulence.
KC opened Group B by sweeping Wildcard but then suffered a surprising 3-0 defeat against Spacestation Gaming. That pushed the reigning champion into the lower bracket, where it eventually survived a seven-game series against R8 Esports.
The contrasting routes create a major quarterfinal:

Spacestation Gaming delivered one of the strongest statements of the group stage.
The North American roster began with a close victory over MIBR.LOS before producing a much more convincing performance against Karmine Corp.
SSG swept KC 3-0 to secure direct playoff qualification.
That result immediately established Spacestation as a serious threat entering the knockout bracket.

Team Falcons also secured direct qualification after two group-stage victories.
The Saudi organization defeated R8 Esports 3-1 before surviving a much closer five-game series against Gentle Mates.
Falcons took an early advantage against Mates but were pushed to a deciding game before finally winning 3-2.
Their quarterfinal opponent is Twisted Minds.
Twisted Minds reached the playoffs through the lower route after losing its upper qualification series against NiP eStar. The team responded by defeating NRG 4-1 in the decisive match.

The Rocket League tournament carries a total prize pool of $1 million.
The eventual champion receives $400,000 and 1,000 Club Championship points. Second place earns $180,000, while third receives $100,000.
Teams eliminated in the quarterfinals still receive $35,000 and 200 Club Championship points.
The playoff format is now single elimination, meaning the safety net from the group stage is gone.
