Rocket League is preparing for another major international event as the Esports World Cup 2026 tournament brings 16 teams to Paris from August 12 to 16.

The competition takes place at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles and carries a $1 million prize pool. Karmine Corp enter as defending EWC champions after winning the 2025 edition, while several of the strongest teams from the current RLCS season will attempt to take the trophy from the French organisation.

France also gives the tournament a particularly significant setting. The country recently hosted the RLCS Paris Major, and French organisations Karmine Corp and Team Vitality enter EWC as major contenders in front of a home crowd.

NRG Look for a Return to Championship Form

NRG provide one of the more interesting storylines in Paris.

The organisation entered 2026 after winning the 2025 Rocket League World Championship but has struggled to consistently reproduce that level since. EWC offers another opportunity to reset before the 2026 World Championship later in the season.

That championship is scheduled for September 15-20 at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, meaning EWC serves as one of the final major international tests before Worlds.

For teams such as NRG, Falcons, Vitality and Karmine Corp, Paris can therefore provide both a trophy opportunity and an important indication of form heading toward the season’s biggest event.
