The start of the season in all competitive esports scenes, and teams do not stop moving their chips to finish putting together the perfect lineup that will lead them to victory. This time, we have a new addition from the well-known Chinese team, Royal Never Give Up.

After a 1-2 start in the Spring Split 2023, Royal Never Give Up has “found” a face they know perfectly and trust to help them achieve a new championship in the LPL.

RNG announces Ming as a new player

Experienced player Shi “Ming” Sen-Ming re-signs with the Chinese organization, as reported through a video posted by the organization on Weibo. This will be Ming’s seventh year in Support of the team. But now, he joins superstar AD Carry Chen “GALA” Wei in the bot lane with the mission to improve the current RNG record.

As we mentioned, the 24-year-old Chinese player has been playing for RNG since 2017. At that time, he was part of a very powerful lineup consisting of Liu “Mlxg” Shi-Yu, star mid-laner Li “Xiaohu” Yuan-Hao, and one of the best shooters of all time, Jian “Uzi” Zi-Hao.

Since then, the player managed to lift the champion trophy three times in the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) and four LPL championships and has been part of the All-Pro First Team seven times in his extraordinary career.

RNG did not have the expected success in 2022

After the end of the 2022 MSI, RNG has not even been a remnant of that team that dominated the Chinese scene completely. The team was brutally eliminated by T1 at Worlds 2022. At the beginning of this season, they were a lost team with no options, as it was obvious that they were missing the leadership of Li “Xiaohu” Yuanhao.

With veteran Support and plenty of experience as the multi-time league champions, the RNG aims to revive the team and return to being as competitive as ever.

There is no doubt that now is the ideal time to make this move. The season is just beginning, and RNG has the time and the necessary talent to gain momentum and improve its level. This, bearing in mind that they must prepare as best as possible for the playoffs in March.

Right now, we are more than clear that RNG is facing a violent and complicated competition against Invictus Gaming and LNG Esports, both of which are undefeated in the LPL Spring Split 2023.

On Sunday, February 5, watch RNG in action as the reigning MSI champions take on Edward Gaming on Summoner’s Rift.
