Riot Season 2021 Event Announced

If you’re a fan of the Riot Games ecosystem, then you’re in for a treat – the most successful developer in the world will reveal its plans for the 2021 season in a matter of days! As expected, this event will span across all of their titles, including League of Legends, Legends of Runeterra, Valorant, Teamfight Tactics, and LoL: Wild Rift. Heck, the oft-rumored Riot-developed MMO might even make an appearance! Anything can happen, and it’s fair to assume that Riot plans on knocking it out of the park. Plus, if their recent history is any indication, we’re bound to get a lot more than we bargained for, which means you should definitely tune in!

Cinematics, champion reveals, developer insights, and everything in between is on the table!

For the purpose of this article, however, we’ll focus on Legends of Runeterra and LoL: Wild Rift, two exceptional titles that have taken the world by storm.

Legends of Runeterra

We know for a fact that Riot will release yet another exciting set of cards (and a brand-new region) this February. That’s right around the corner, so you can expect a bunch of content to be revealed during the livestream! Nothing has been leaked thus far (for better or worse), so there’s no telling what Riot is currently working on. So far we’ve gotten a single region per expansion, so it’s fair to expect a similar release cadence going forward as well. If we had to take a wild stab in the dark, we’d lean towards Shurima as the most likely candidate, with the Void coming in at close second.

Champions like Azir, Nasus, Xerath, Kassadin, Cho’Gath, Malzahar, and Vel’Koz would all transition incredibly well into the LoR universe. Heck, maybe that’s even an understatement! Best of all, they’d introduce a different playstyle as well, which is what the vast majority of players around the world are hoping for the most.

As for the game itself, the most recent Call of the Mountain expansion (comprised of three separate sets) has done wonders for the game. Balancing it is still a double-edged sword, but Riot’s been doing admirably well in that regard. The game is as fun as ever, and if you’ve been looking for an excuse to log in and queue up, now would be as good a time as any!

LoL: Wild Rift

Riot’s mobile-centric port of League of Legends is still in beta, but it’s already making waves across the globe. And we’re really putting it lightly here! The amount of hype and momentum this game has been able to create is downright staggering and there’s a good reason why.

It’s really that good.

Riot has just shipped patch 2.0, and with it, five new Bandle City champions! Corki, Kennen, Lulu, Tristana, and Teemo will all join the ever-growing champion roster over the coming weeks. Their release coincides with the start of Wild Rift’s first-ever season and will no doubt make the game even more exciting!

This upcoming Riot 2021 Season event will provide fans and players with a spectacular overview of what’s to come, and it might even bring a couple of big surprises, too!

Closing Remarks

In short, if you’re a fan of the Riot Games ecosystem, this event will be like Christmas and New Year’s Eve rolled up into one! And, of course, it’s an absolute must watch. Tune in on January 8th (7 AM PST) to the official Riot Games Twitch channel for the live reveal! As always, we’ll bring you more coverage as things hit the web!
