Following multiple video teasers, Riot Games has unveiled a teaser trailer for Bel’Veth, the next champion coming to League of Legends.

A jungler coming from the Void, Bel’Veth looks set to take over the rift with high mobility and Void-themed abilities.

Riot reveals new League champion

Bel’Veth will be the 160th champion in Riot’s long-running MOBA, and the third champion to be released in 2022.

Known as ‘The Empress of the Void’, Bel’Veth is set to be an imposing figure on the Rift, as well as tie into several existing’s characters’ lore. The Void is one of the fictional regions of Runetarra, the setting of League of Legends, and in-game lore paints a haunting picture of chaos.

“Screaming into existence with the birth of the universe, the Void is a manifestation of the unknowable nothingness that lies beyond. It is a force of insatiable hunger, waiting through the eons until its masters, the mysterious Watchers, mark the final time of undoing.”

This origin will connect her to champions such as Kai’Sa, Kassadin, and Malzahar, who all have backstories and lore relating to the void.

Bel’Veth’s champion trailer was preceded by apparent leaks of her abilities. If these leaks are correct, Bel’Veth will be a mobile jungler with various forms of CC, AoE damage and self-buffing.

However, fans will have to wait until she is officially released to see what effect the Empress of the Void has on the game. Riot has not yet announced what patch will introduce Bel’Veth, though many expect her to be added in the 12.11 patch on June 8.
