Riot release trailer for new League champion, K’Sante

Riot Games has unveiled the trailer for K’Sante, the Pride of Nazumah and the newest League of Legends champion.... Shubh | 15. October 2022

Riot Games has unveiled the trailer for K’Sante, the Pride of Nazumah and the newest League of Legends champion. The new Shuriman tank is making its way to the top lane.

The Hunter’s Pride, a brand-new cinematic trailer from Riot Games, features K’Sante, the next Shuriman tank champion who was only briefly referenced in the previous LoL Champion Roadmap in April. Since then, the champion has been teased frequently by the devs and the community has been abuzz with excitement about the new champion for a long time. However, the wait appears to be over as the trailer’s arrival suggests that the new champion is also arriving soon. K’Sante will join Summoner’s Rift as the first black LGBTQ champion, claims his voice actor DeObia Oparei.

Riot has not provided enough information regarding the abilities of the new League of Legends champion. K’Sante’s teaser trailer, however, made it clear that he will be a tank top laner like Ornn, Sion, and Shen. Top lane players have been pleading with Riot to show some respect for LoL’s most underappreciated lane and champion type, and Riot has finally answered their plea. It’s been two years since the game last launched a tank, Rell was the last tank to be released overall in 2020, while Ornn was the last tank to be released in the top lane.

The trailer also clearly reveals a sheet of paper with a large bow drawn over it; this could be a hint as to K’Sante’s preferred weapon, though it is difficult to determine for sure. K’Sante is seen in the trailer using his trademark tonfas to slay a fearsome monster. His ability to transform his protective, blunt weapons into deadly blades is one of his distinguishing character traits, which can be seen clearly in the trailer. Many fans believe that the addition of this new weapon will allow simultaneous use of offense and defense, effectively transforming K’Sante into a dual-class capable of acting as both a tank and a skirmisher.

K’Sante release date

Given Riot’s previous history, there is a strong likelihood that K’Sante will be included in the patch 12.21 PBE cycle. In that case, the champion might be made accessible in League of Legends in late October or early November, following the conclusion of Worlds 2022. Furthermore, it was also confirmed earlier that K’sante will get a Worlds 2022 skin inspired by American rapper and singer Lil Nas X called ‘Prestige Empyrean K’sante’. The K’Sante skin will be released on November 3rd and can be unlocked through November 14th.
