Riot Phlox, the designer of the Summoner’s Rift team, has officially unveiled the changes that will be implemented in the League of Legends in Patch 12.10. The durability update will reduce damage evenly across the board, aiming to increase the durability of champions as well as the duration of team fights.

Riot Games stated earlier this month that every League of Legends champion would receive a significant boost to their base health and armour levels. According to Phlox, 12.10 will be a disruptive patch and Riot is delaying all balancing changes for it. While the player base adjusts to the new power dynamic of the champions, developers will keep an eye on it.

Champions Buff

Base Health: +70
Health per level: +14
Magic Resist per level: +0.8
Armor per level: +1.2

Champions Nerf

Champion Healing will be nerfed by 10 – 28 %
Champion Shielding will be nerfed by 10 %

System Adjustments

Riot is also reportedly focusing on system healing and shielding to hit the right balance. While systems with Healing will be nerfed by 10-28%, systems with Shielding will be nerfed by 10%.

Grievous Wounds’ abilities for items and champions will also be reduced by 10% in both standard and enhanced circumstances. Additionally, the power of armour and magic penetration equipment will also be reduced by 5% to 10%. To counteract the increased durability of champions, turrets and Baron Nashor will deal more damage to the champions.

These massive modifications, according to the developer, are not predictable enough for the team to pinpoint which champions would be powerful. To address any issues that arise with 12.10., Riot will follow up with additional micro patches.

The durability update has the potential to completely shift the meta, as well as usher in a new League of Legends era dominated by a new set of champions and their counter builds. At first, players may not comprehend the meta and find the changes intimidating, but if Riot releases an ideal micro patch to strike the correct balance, the durability update could be a game-changer.
