It’s common that every year during the League of Legends World Championship, Riot Games holds its traditional “Pick’em,” where fans and players of the company’s popular MOBA try to predict various outcomes like match results, team performances, and even more trivial things like “which champion will be picked the most” or “which champion will be banned the most during the group stage.”
The idea is that Riot always rewards participants with a variety of prizes, including the main reward: all of the game’s “ultimate” skins if you manage to predict 100% of the Pick’em selections correctly.

However, in 2024, even though everyone knew it wouldn’t be an easy task, we were hit with a surprise: without even reaching the quarterfinals, Riot has already announced that no one has a “perfect Pick’em” anymore, meaning there is no longer any chance for players to get all predictions right and win the ultimate skin rewards in League of Legends.
To make things worse, Riot also announced that not only are there no perfect Pick’ems, but there is exactly one “imperfect Pick’em” – the case of a player who made the historic achievement of not getting a single prediction right so far. Some users on Reddit and X joked about this, wondering if Riot should give a reverse prize, removing all ultimate skins from the player’s account.

In discussions on Reddit and X, the League of Legends community credited the lack of perfect picks to what were likely the results from the Play-In Stage. For instance, 100 Thieves, the 3rd seed from the LCS, was eliminated early in the competition, while the Brazilian underdog, paiN Gaming, achieved a historic feat for the country by securing a spot in the Swiss Stage.
