Riot Games have revealed the massive 12.11 patch for League of Legends, featuring a new champion, major buffs and nerfs, and several significant changes to key items.

The twelfth season of League of Legends is quickly reaching its mid-point and in the wake of late May’s game-changing 12.10 ‘Durability Update’, Riot is releasing patch 12.11 on June 8.

Bel’Veth released

The biggest addition in 12.10 is the release of Bel’Veth, the Void Empress. The 160th champion released for League of Legends is set to be a high-mobility, high-damage jungler. Bel’Veth is the third of four champions expected to be released in 2022, joining Zeri and Renata Glasc as the roster additions for the year so far.

Bel’Veth’s kit is built around increasing her attack speed and overwhelming enemy champions with her speed and damage.

Buffs and nerfs

According to the details released by Riot about the patch, 14 champions will receive buffs while a further 12 will be nerfed.

Support champion Rakan receives major buffs to the majority of his abilities, while mid lane champion Ryze receives significant changes in an attempt to fix his declining win rate in ranked play. Overall, Aphelios, Caitlyn, Irelia, Gragas, Lee Sin, Nunu & Willump, Rakan, Ryze, Samira, Sylas, Tahm Kench, Taric, Tryndamere, and Xin Zhao will be buffed.

However, not everyone is getting stronger. One function of the 12.11 is the scale back some of the champions who received significant improvements in the 12.10 update. Taliyah and Olaf, whose win rates skyrocketed after being buffed in the last patch, receive nerfs of some description. The champions receiving nerfs are Brand, Gwen, Kog’Maw, Lillia, Master Yi, Rengar, Senna, Slayer Kayn, Swain, Taliyah, Veigar, and Wukong.

Fizz, Olaf, Sona, and Zeri receive adjustments, meaning their kits have received changes that neither necessarily buff nor nerf the champion.

A number of in-game items will also receive adjustments.

New skins

Patch 12.11 will also see the release of five skins plus a prestige skin. Called the Ocean Song skins, they will be available for Ashe, Nidalee, Seraphine, Yone, and Zeri. Seraphine will also receive a prestige edition of her Ocean Song skin. The Ocean Song skins take place in an alternate universe, as with many skin lines. Specifically, this skin line focuses on the Ocean Song Festival, a celebration of summer.
