fragster Jennifer Davis 25. July 2025

Summary:

  • Patch 1.200.100 adds button remapping (early version), better goal checks, hit response, and fixes for smoother matches.
  • Visual and sound improvements include colorblind mode, new effects, and UI bugs that were cleaned up.
  • Cross-play and netcode are still not done, but this patch helps fix core issues and make things feel more stable.

After more than five million players joined the game since its launch, Rematch now gets its first big update. This is the Rematch major update Patch 1.200.100, now live on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. The patch adds many things people were asking for, and also fixes several problems that made the game feel off.

Main Gameplay Fixes – Better Controls and Smoother Matches

One of the biggest additions in this update is button remapping. It’s still in early form, so you can’t combine two inputs on one button, but now you can move buttons around to suit your hands. That’s already a big help for many players.

Here are some other gameplay changes:

    • Goal Confirmation Got Changed
Now when a ball goes into goal, there is a small delay before it says it’s a goal. This helps avoid false scores that can happen because of lag or deflections.
    • Hit Detection Improved
Especially for goalkeepers. The game now understands better if the ball is caught or deflected. Speed and direction matters more now.
  • Match Flow is Cleaner
    • End of match screen bug (where it didn’t show sometimes) is now fixed.
    • Pause menu feels more responsive when you press it.
    • Goal replays are now smoother, with better animation, not shaking too much anymore.

Menus and User Interface – Many Fixes Added

The patch also brings improvements to the menus and UI. These changes make the game feel more clean when you move between screens.

Updates Include:

  • Progression screen got a visual refresh. It’s easier now to read what you unlocked.
  • Problems like overlapping buttons or lost inputs have been fixed.
  • Matchmaking and social menus now respond faster and show correct info.
  • You can now choose voice channel in custom lobby settings.
  • Ball indicator was fixed too. It tracks the ball properly, even when it’s going very fast or far away.

Other UI Fixes:

  • Scoreboard now updates in correct timing.
  • Ping icon is easier to see and understand.
  • Opponent name tags show the correct team colors now.

Animations, Physics and Other Improvements

Some of the updates are small, but still very helpful. They make the game feel more natural.

  • Goalies now react better when another player is close to them.
  • Balls that bounce off defenders go in more real directions, unless it’s blocked directly.
  • Collisions don’t feel so stiff anymore.
  • Camera with mouse and keyboard won’t snap wrongly now.
  • Spectator mode now listens to your inputs better.
  • If you’re using a controller, it rumbles now when you take a shot.

Known Issues – Still Not Fixed Yet

Even with this big patch, some bugs are still there:

  • Achievements still not unlocking right sometimes.
  • Ball may desync on console when it hits the post.
  • Some tackles don’t play correct animation.
  • That loud wind sound at kickoff still happens in some matches.

Not everything is done yet. Cross-play and netcode are still in the works. But still, this update improves the game a lot, and makes it feel more sharp and ready.

What’s Being Worked On Next

The developers, Sloclap, said they’re still working on some features. These ones are on the way of Rematch major update:

  • Cross-play and netcode: Still not finished. They said it needs more time and a special team, but they are making progress.
  • Test Servers: These are planned soon. It will let players test new things early before they become official.

Conclusion

Patch 1.200.100 might not bring everything fans was waiting for, but it is a strong first step. The game is now more stable, matches play better, and controls feel more personal.

There’s still more work to do. But if Sloclap keeps going with updates like this Rematch major update, the game will keep getting better. The best version of Rematch maybe hasn’t come yet.
