Actually, the graphics cards were said to be released in the first quarter of 2022, but it seems that the process is delayed a bit. The Arc Alchemist will probably not hit the market until the second quarter of 2022. In this article you’ll find everything we know about the release of the Intel Arch Alchemist.

Release postponed

The Youtuber “Moore’s Law is Dead” deals a lot with GPUs and got reliable information that we will see the graphics card only in the second quarter. The YouTuber shared that there’s no way we’ll see the Arc Alchemist GPU before late March to early April, when the first samples start making the rounds.

Even then, the samples are reportedly far from a release to the masses, and Moore’s Law is Dead sources estimate the high-end cards will arrive somewhere between May and June. “ARC has effectively been pushed back to the second quarter. All of our major ARC products will be released in April or later,” a source told Moore’s Law is Dead. It also says that the low-end ARC laptops will be first to market.

This information is no surprise considering that the Arc Alchemist GPUs for laptops were the only ones mentioned during Intel’s CES 2022 presentation. “There could still be a paper launch in March, and I would expect laptops to have some low-end Alchemist offerings in April,” a source told Moore’s Law is Dead. The same source indicated that higher-end desktop models will launch in June.

Intel keeping a low profile

Interestingly, according to another Moore’s Law is Dead source, Intel may also be planning a convention unveiling where GPUs will be raffled off. This source also said that this giveaway will take place before the Q2 launch, leading Moore’s Law is Dead to believe that PAX East will be the place and time. PAX East will take place April 21-24 in Boston, but more information will likely be leaked before then.

Intel’s announcement on when the Arc Alchemist series will launch was very inconsistent. The company initially gave the first quarter as the launch window for Arc Alchemist on its official site, before changing the date to a generally valid “2022.”

When asked about the website change, the company had little to say. “Intel is targeting the first Alchemist products to launch in the first quarter of 2022,” an Intel representative said. If there is a firm release date, we’ll let you know on Twitter.
