The last CS:GO tournament of the 2022 season, the BLAST World Final, which brings together the best players and teams in the world fighting for a share of the juicy $1,000,000 prize pool, is underway.

The reigning IEM Rio Major champions, Outsiders, are shocked to be eliminated from the BLAST Premier World Final after a devastating loss to G2 Esports in the elimination match.

Outsiders say goodbye to the tournament

G2 Esports seems to be back to the top competitive level after an excellent 2-0 victory over the reigning IEM Rio Major champions, Outsiders, in the elimination match for Group A of the BLAST Premier World Final.

The first map of the series was Inferno, which was very evenly matched despite G2 Esports winning the first half 11-4 on the Terrorist side. Outsiders were able to wake up in the second half of the match, but it was not enough for them, and they ended up falling with a tight 12-16.

The second map and last gasp for Outsiders was one to forget. G2 Esports gave the Outsiders a real beating after an impressive and, above all, unexpected 15-0 first half. This forced the champions to a historic comeback they did not get and ended up losing 1-16.

m0NESY: Otusiders’ executioner

Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov was the Outsiders’ executioner in this elimination match, as the young promise had impressive stats in both maps.

The G2 Esports AWPer had a K/D of 56-20, generating a natural spectacle in each round. And if that wasn’t enough, the young Russian had some decisive clutch throughout the series.

Fans had their chips on Outsiders

Not being opportunistic, the fans had high hopes that Outsiders would continue to demonstrate a high level of play after the feat in the IEM Rio Major 2022.

In addition, the confidence with which each player came to this tournament was spectacular; a completely serene team with a clear objective: to revalidate their great level at the BLAST Premier World Final.

Unfortunately for them and the fans, the fate of the Outsiders in this tournament was not as expected, as they became the first team eliminated from the event in Abu Dhabi.

Outsiders began their journey in this tournament against Team Liquid, playing the opening match on December 14.

Despite starting with a 16-10 victory in Inferno, they could not beat Team Liquid and lost 1-2 in the series.

G2 Esports, meanwhile, qualifies for the quarterfinals, where they will face the second classification of Group B, which will be Team Vitality or OG.
