Rammus gets an emergency buff following nerf in patch 13.1

After the recent League of Legends patch 13.1, Rammus went from one of the best League of Legends junglers to one of the worst. Riot is aware of this and promised an emergency micro patch to help the armordillo.

By the start of League of Legends Season 13, Rammus first became one of the strongest junglers in the game. The Armadillo is simple in nature, but with the release of the previous patch, the extremely powerful new tank items, such as Heartsteel or Jak’Sho, made him an insurmountable threat.

However, he’s not the only one we see a lot on the Rift these days. Tanks like Dr. Mundo, Maokai, Udyr, or Zac are happy about the current tank meta, to the chagrin of the AD carries, of course.

Rammus gets an emergency buff

However, those looking to try Rammus in solo or flex queue with the launch of patch 13.1 were left with a beaten and battered champion. Double nerfs to his kit and core item Jak’Sho, the Protean, caused his win rate to plummet.

According to LoLalytics, his win rate has dropped from 54.2% across all ranks to under 46%. This was particularly evident in the higher Elo, where the fluctuations were well over 10%. With his win rate now one of the worst in the role, Riot is promising the Rammus mains an overhaul of his changes in the form of an emergency micro patch.

Developer TheTruexy told players on Jan. 12. via Reddit:

“There will be a micro patch to add in compensatory buffs to him. As noted elsewhere, Jak’Sho stacks differently with him now and we overshot the impact it would have.”

What else changed with recent updates?

The latest patch includes an increase in the base stats for his HP, AD, and Armor. The nerf to his W spell has also been undone.

The patch also brings us a bug fix for the Fimbulwinter item, which doesn’t get the same HP buff as Winter’s Approach. Also coming with the micro patch is a bug fix for Ornn’s passive that gives him more bonus stats than it should.

Otherwise, there was another revision of Jax’ Spells, which now finally has proper animations! His ultimate’s passive now has updated animations, sound and visual effects. Alongside him, Jayce, Lissandra, Shaco, Sion, Twisted Fate, and Xayah were buffed.

There were nerfs for Aatrox, Dr. Mundo, Fiora, K’Sante, Yuumi and Zeri. Hopefully, we’ll see a Diana and Sylas nerf in the next patch, because they’ve also been very popular and successful in ranked lately.
