Likewise, there are new challenges that will pave the way to a new gameplay like never before. Why? Because Operation High Stakes brings plenty of adjustments to keep your meta leaning into spicy!
New Weapons Arrive
New Operator Weapons
Operation High Stakes unleashes a thrilling new era of Rainbow Six Siege with the introduction of Denari. Denari’s gadget, the TRIP Connector, is a new and unique gadget that can be deployed as sticky, throwable devices that project a tripwire laser grid sight connecting several points in line of sight.
Making things even more interesting is the new Glaive-12 shotgun secondary arm. This weapon is a compact slug shotgun for precision detonation of soft surfaces to open sightlines.
Denari also has options for a primary weapon in either the Scorpion EVO 3 SMG or a FMG-9 SMG. In addition, he could also equip the P226 Mk 25 pistol.
Weapon Accessibility
Besides Denari’s inventive arsenal, the Operation High Stakes update enhances weapon availability across the Operator menu. The Reaper MK2, which was only available to Rauora Operator, is also available to Sledge, Oryx, Pulse, Rook, and Ying. Notably, it also went through a major recoil improvement to premium handling.
Other weapon expansions consist of giving Sentry a powerful TCSG12 shotgun and giving Striker a high-accuracy SR-25 DMR. Consequently, to balance out the gameplay aspects, defenders lost magnified scopes, while also receiving minor modifications to their weapon loadout.
Map and Game Mode Updates
Operation High Stakes features some distinctly new modifications, including modernized versions of three classic maps: Lair, Nighthaven Labs, and Consulate. The maps have been updated visually with new lighting, textures, and materials to provide players with a fresh visual experience without changing the original map’s layout.
What’s really cool about these modern maps is that you can now destroy things like gas pipes, fire extinguishers, and metal detectors. As a player, you’ll have to think about new strategies since the destructible items can be used to your advantage.
Dual Front Mode
Not only are there a bunch of visual and gameplay changes, but also an update to Dual Front. Now, with a new in-game assignment and a new operator pool, it enhances the variety of tactical work in maps.
This new neutral zone assignment is called Keres Safe Room and presents an objective-focused challenge. Specifically, teams need to hack a device and fight to maintain control while the doors lock down the area, forcing strategic breaching and defending.
Operator Balance Changes
Removal of Magnified Scopes on Defensive Operators
Some operators get extra mobility or gadget buffs to offset the loss of ranged precision:
- Echo: improved movement speed from 1 to 2.
- Rook: now has a Nitro Cell.
Weapon and Loadout Tweaks
- Wamai: now has the Super Shorty shotgun.
- Fenrir: Bailiff 410 shotgun removal.
Blackbeard Nerf
- Increase in the time it takes to cancel aim down sights (ADS), from 0.9 to 0.5 seconds.
- ADS cannot be done while rappelling in windows increases vulnerability with aggressive entry.
- The H.U.L.L. shield fully folds during reload animations.
- Reduction in magazine size and a reduction in breach charges, with only three now instead of four.
Conclusion
Fresh strategies, surprising playstyles, and pure fun are what keep Rainbow Six Siege X: Operation High Stakes competitive. This update sure is ready to shake up the way Siege fans approach each round. New weapons, map variants, and careful balance changes mean whatever your style is, the battlefield will still feel fresh. And with that, now is the best time to work your way back into Siege.
