The list of Rainbow Six Siege operators will continue to grow. As Ubisoft Montreal recently revealed in an interview for GameSpot, the developer doesn’t plan on slowing down on adding new characters to the game.

Rainbow Six Siege developers have revealed that they will continue introducing new operators to the game as they are still coming up with new ideas and concepts for future characters. Seven years since its official release, there are currently 64 playable operators in the game.

A lot more to come

According to Alexander Karpazis, Creative Director for Rainbow Six Siege, the developer team has still a lot of ideas for future Siege operators. In the recent statement, Karpazis told GameSpot that they “haven’t even scratched the tip of the iceberg“. He also elaborated on the process:

“The team has so many ideas to release more characters and we’ve become really, really good at balancing this ecosystem of gameplay and gadgetry so that no matter which way you slice it whoever you’re playing as in a five-person team can be really important while always having a counter.”

Furthermore, Game Designer for Rainbow Six Siege Mathieu Lacombe used the recently introduced Sens and Azami operators as an indication of how much “untapped potential is still out there”. Lacombe also explained that the team can create operators quickly because they can create multiple operators that solve the same problem in different ways.

Six Siege developers are also confident that they can balance new operators well enough to remove the delay in introducing them into the game. This way, new characters can be played in the same season as when they were released which would be undoubtedly great news for many fans.

More content

With over 60 operators at players’ disposal, Rainbow Six Siege offers an opportunity to find the perfect character for everyone’s playstyle. That’s an overwhelming amount of operators, with new characters likely in the development right now.

However, more options mean more work, as players need to test operators first to find what suits them best. Nonetheless, a wider selection of characters can ensure that more players will find a perfect character for them, which, of course, is an advantage for the title. If the developers can continue introducing fun and exciting new operators that aren’t game-breaking or imbalanced, fans will likely be more than welcoming of the constant flow of the new content.

New fun with Sens

Following a small delay caused by “technical issues”, the new Rainbow Six season titled Operation Vector Glare was released yesterday. The new season added Sens a new operator who can use a special R.O.U projector system that can block viewpoints. While Sens is an attacker, they’re not particularly fast, therefore making the best use of the throwable projector will be important.

The new season also introduced a new map called Close Quarter, which is the first dedicated Team Deathmatch-only map that focuses on movement rather than defensive setups.
