In their encounter with the other top team of the league, BDS managed to secure an incredibly narrow victory over Team Secret. They’ve now decisively put themselves on top of the standings of EUL Stage 2.

But Secret don’t have to be disappointed with yesterday’s 5-7 finish. Apart from the surprise draw versus Vitality, BDS had dominated all of their matches so far and are currently sitting on top of a +22 round difference. For Secret, their 5 round points are already a good result, but they’ll have to do more if they want to have a shot at winning the upcoming November Major. In Kevin “Prano” Pranowitz, they already feature the third best player of the league, if we are to trust the ratings of SiegeGG.

After their surprise victory over Secret on Monday, Natus Vincere were unfortunately handed another loss. Joe “Joe” Crowther, who had dominated the scoreboard in their previous game, only managed to secure 4 kills. On the Empire camp, Danil “JoyStiCK” Gabov had a vintage performance with 14 Kills and a 1.58 rating.

G2 ARE CATCHING UP

Ben “CTZN” McMillan earned himself a 1.62 rating during their 7-2 victory over Virtus.pro, but the standout player of the match was definitely Jake “Virtue” Grannan. With a 1.74 rating and a KD of 4, he handled Virtus.pro with ease. This victory means more than just valuable points in the league. As it stands, three teams are currently sitting right behind BDS and Secret. Empire, G2 and VP are tied with 10 points each. So the head-to-head record of the teams will decide who gets to advance to the Major. Empire have won over G2 and G2 have defeated VP, but VP have also bested Empire. Their victory over Virtus.pro now ensures that Niclas “Pengu” Mouritzen and his compatriots remain a part of the tiebreaker.

But Vitality and Chaos are close behind. In Empire and G2, they definitely have some difficult opponents coming up and if the latter two win these encounters, the distance to the Top 4 will be almost impossible to bridge. Only three match-days remain in the second stage of EUL. BDS will likely get their 6. win on the board over NaVi soon, whereas Secret will clash with one of the most dangerous teams in the form of Virtus.pro.
