Smash Rule Explained (Final Day Only)

Image via Esports World Cup
The Smash Rule is only used on Day 3. It adds a twist to how the tournament might end.
- First, a team has to hit the Match Point Target. That target is 10 points more than the current leader’s score.
- After reaching that number, the same team has to win one of the remaining matches.
- If no team does both, then the title goes to whoever has the highest score after all 18 matches.
It makes the final day more intense and forces top teams to take risks.
