PUBG Mobile has launched a new campaign called the Afro Frenzy Dance Challenge, targeting TikTok users in Africa. It invites them to create videos of Afro-style dances that connect with PUBG gameplay. This challenge is part of PUBG’s “For Africa, By Africa” initiative to attract more players and creators from the region.
What’s the beat?
The challenge launched on 6th August 2025. At the centre of the Challenge is a track called “I’m The One”, produced with Gengetone artist Fathermoh from Kenya. To participate, TikTok users need to not only use this track as the audio, they also need to use a dance called the “Afro Frenzy Move”. This will make entries easier to judge since entries must fit the sound and dance moves the publishers of the challenge have asked for.
How to participate
TikTok users from across Africa can join by following a few steps:
- Use the track: “PUBG Mobile ft. Fathermoh – ‘I’m The One’”
- Upload a video that runs for at least 15 seconds
- Add the Afro Frenzy Move somewhere in the dance
- You can duet with others, including influencers or PUBG gameplay clips
- Tag @pubg.mobile.africa and use hashtags like #AfroFrenzy, #DanceChallenge, #Iamtheone, #mapangale
Prizes and Rewards

PUBG Mobile will give out weekly rewards in two main areas:
- Most Viewed Video: Gets KES 30,000
- Most Creative Video: Wins an Oraimo SpaceBox Pro speaker
Players are told to start their clips with a bit of PUBG gameplay before switching into the dance. That way, the content feels more natural and tied to the game.
This dance challenge is one piece of PUBG Mobile’s larger push in Africa. Other parts of the plan include new servers in Nigeria and South Africa, an outfit based on Maasai clothing, and a digital version of the traditional Mancala game. The TikTok challenge isn’t just for fun; it’s another way for the game to grow closer with its audience in the region.
