The Indonesian spring season of the PUBG Mobile Pro League (PMPL) 2023 will kick off on February 15. The top 20 teams in the Asian nation will compete against each other over two weeks of tournament play.

Compared to the previous edition, the Southeast Asian Pro League has undergone some format changes by the publisher Tencent Games. The 10-point method will be used to distribute ranking points, as this season, there will be no Grand Final, and only one stage will be played to determine the champion. The corporation has also reduced the prize pool from $150,000 to $80,000.

Format for PMPL 2023 Spring Indonesia

The 20 teams will be randomly divided into five groups of four teams each for the first week, which will take place from February 15 to 19. Afterward, games will be played from Wednesday to Sunday over five days.

Then, in the second week, the 20 teams will again be divided into five groups according to their standings from the first five matchdays. For example, group A of the second week will be teaming #1, #10, #11, and #20; group B will be teaming #2, #9, #12, and #19. With the implementation of this format, the PMPL 2023 Spring Indonesia is expected to be very competitive.

The total points accumulated by the teams in all their matches will be used to make the overall ranking of the competition.

Despite the event’s finals being held in Indonesia, the previous international tournament, PMGC 2022, did not go well for the Indonesian teams, so they hope to bounce back and regain glory.
