PUBG: Battlegrounds Update 38.2 marks a major turning point for the console versions, as it adopts full support for current-generation hardware. Not only does this change affect which consoles are supported, it also affects the performance targets and rewards for long-time users. I’ll share what I confirm, and not make any guesses.
Supported Platforms & Transition

Starting November 13, 2025, the console version of PUBG: Battlegrounds will now only support:
- PlayStation 5
- Xbox Series X|S.
Additionally, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will no longer support the game. Fortunately, you will not lose your progress: all of your account data and previously purchased content will transfer to a supported console.
Technical Specifications by Console
The official announcement specifies the resolution and frame-rate targets for each console model.
- Xbox Series S: Up to 1080p at 60 fps or 1440p at 30 fps (your choice).
- Xbox Series X: Dynamic 4K (2160p) at 60 fps.
- PlayStation 5 (standard): 1440p at 60 fps.
- PlayStation 5 Pro: Dynamic 4K (2160p) at 60 fps.
All of these targets represent moving to current-generation hardware and provide smoother gameplay, a higher fidelity visual experience and the best overall performance.

Reward Programmes & Special Offers
To ease this transition and thank players, the developers have lined up several rewards.
Legacy User Rewards
If you had an account with PUBG on PS4 or Xbox One before the November 13 maintenance, you would get:
- Desolate Military Base nameplate
- PUBG Graffiti emblem
- PUBG Icons parachute
These items will be automatically added to your inventory as soon as Update 38.2 is released.
Subscription / Bundle Rewards

PlayStation Plus: Bundle #4: Features Hunter’s Chests, Keys, Contraband Coupons, and a new Pixel Art Parachute (originally available at PS launch).
Xbox Game Pass: Survivor Pack #4: Equally includes Hunter’s Chests, Keys, and Contraband Coupons.
You can claim these between the time period of November 13, 09:00 UTC to January 8, 2026, 01:00 UTC.
Invite / Event Rewards
There will be a console-exclusive event: by inviting new or returning players, you can earn up to 500 G-Coin.
Important Transition Notes
On PlayStation 5, the PS4 version and PS5 version are viewed as two separate entities. That means when it comes to in-game settings, they won’t transfer, and your trophies from the PS4 version will not transfer either. On Xbox Series X|S, Smart Delivery is active: if you own any iteration of the game on Xbox One, you’ll get the Series version automatically. After November 13, you can no longer download or play PUBG: Battlegrounds on PS4 or Xbox One.
Conclusion
With Update 38.2, PUBG: Battlegrounds is firmly putting an end to its old console era, as only PS5 and Xbox Series X|S will be supported as of November 13. Players who upgrade will earn rewards, and will have the benefit of higher performance and visuals. This isn’t a trivial step, as the move is bold but calculated, and shows PUBG’s commitment toward its continued success on current-gen consoles.
