The PUBG Mobile World Cup 2026 has entered its decisive phase in Paris, with 16 teams now competing in the Grand Finals for one of the biggest international titles of the season.
Day One features six matches across Rondo, Erangel and Miramar. Every finalist started again from zero points, meaning performances from the Group Stage and Survival Stage no longer provide a direct standings advantage.
After the opening four matches, eArena has taken the early lead with 48 points. Tianba sits close behind on 45, while Nigma Galaxy occupies third place with 44.
Six matches set the tone on opening day
The first Grand Finals day consists of six matches, beginning with Rondo before the lobby moves through three Erangel games and finishes with two matches on Miramar.
The Day One map rotation is:
- Match 1: Rondo
- Matches 2-4: Erangel
- Matches 5-6: Miramar
The structure provides several opportunities to recover from a poor opening game. Unlike a traditional knockout tournament, one early elimination does not immediately threaten a team’s entire campaign.
However, consistently weak results become increasingly difficult to recover from as the Grand Finals progress.
After four matches, the leaderboard already shows clear separation between the early leaders and teams struggling near the bottom.
eArena and Tianba start strongly
Thailand’s eArena has produced the best start so far.
The team leads the standings after four matches with 48 points, but the advantage remains small. China’s Tianba is only three points behind with 45, while Nigma Galaxy sits another point back on 44.
Aurora Gaming has also remained competitive on 36 points.

With two games still remaining on Day One, the order can change significantly before the opening session ends.
The narrow gap between eArena, Tianba and Nigma Galaxy means no team has established anything close to a comfortable lead yet.
Vitality and FURIA remain within reach
Several recognizable esports organizations currently occupy the middle section of the standings.
BTR Vitality has collected 28 points after four matches, placing the team sixth. Team Flash and 4Thrives follow on 25 points each, while S2G Esports and FURIA remain close behind.
That group remains well within striking distance of the leaders.
PUBG Mobile’s scoring system rewards both placement and eliminations, meaning one strong Winner Winner Chicken Dinner combined with a high finish count can significantly change the table.
Teams currently chasing the leaders include:
- BTR Vitality with 28 points
- Team Flash and 4Thrives with 25 each
- S2G Esports with 23
- FURIA with 22
The remaining Miramar matches therefore provide an opportunity to close the gap before Day Two.
GodLike and Orangutan endure difficult opening session
The opening matches have been harder for India’s two representatives.
GodLike Esports currently sits 14th with 13 points, while Orangutan has ten points in 15th. IDA Esports occupies the bottom position with only two.
Both Indian teams qualified directly for the Grand Finals after strong Group Stage performances.
GodLike finished third in Group B with 105 points, while Orangutan finished second in Group A with 91.
Those previous scores have no effect on the Grand Finals leaderboard, however.
The reset means both organizations must rebuild their positions across the remaining matches. With two full days still ahead after Friday’s session, there is enough time for major movement.
Smash Rule changes the final-day strategy
The Grand Finals run from August 14 through August 16 and can feature up to 18 matches.
Day One and Day Two use standard PUBG Mobile scoring. After the second day, the leading team’s points total will help establish the Match Point threshold for Sunday’s Smash Rule phase.
Once a team becomes Match Point Eligible on Day Three, it must then secure a Winner Winner Chicken Dinner to immediately become world champion.
If no eligible team completes that condition before all scheduled matches are played, the overall points standings determine the winner.
That system makes the first two days particularly important. Teams are not simply collecting points for the leaderboard; they are also attempting to place themselves in a favorable position before the title conditions change.
A new PUBG Mobile World Cup champion is guaranteed
The 2026 tournament will produce a new champion.
Defending PMWC winner Yangon Galacticos and 2024 champion Alpha7 Esports were both eliminated during the Survival Stage.
Their exits guarantee that one of the remaining 16 organizations will claim the PUBG Mobile World Cup title for the first time.
The Grand Finals also represent the conclusion of a tournament that began with 32 teams and a total prize pool of $3 million.
Assessment
The first four matches have given eArena the ideal start, but the standings remain far too close for any team to feel comfortable.
Tianba and Nigma Galaxy are within four points of first place, while several teams in the middle of the table remain capable of climbing quickly with one strong match.
For GodLike and Orangutan, the situation is more difficult but far from decisive. PUBG Mobile’s multi-match format leaves substantial room for recovery, particularly before the Smash Rule becomes active on the final day.
The most important objective on Day One is therefore not necessarily to dominate the leaderboard. Teams need to remain close enough to the leading group that a strong second day can put them into Match Point contention.
With two Miramar matches still to play and another full weekend ahead, the battle for the PMWC 2026 title has only just begun.
