NS RedForce Take PMWC Lead as Smash Rule Race Begins

fragster John Parker 16. August 2026

The PUBG Mobile World Cup 2026 has entered its decisive phase, with NS RedForce moving into first place after Match 14 of the Grand Finals in Paris.

The Korean roster now sits on 128 points, overtaking previous leader eArena, who has reached exactly 122 points. That number is especially important because 122 is the initial Smash Rule threshold for the final day.

S2G Esports remains close behind with 116 points, while Aurora Gaming holds fourth on 113. With four matches still scheduled, the championship race remains wide open.

NS RedForce move ahead after Match 14

NS RedForce started Day Three on 105 points, seven behind eArena.

The early matches changed that order.

After Match 14, NS RedForce climbed to 128 points, while eArena reached 122. The gap between the two leaders is therefore only six points, with S2G and Aurora also still close enough to influence the title fight.

The leading positions after Match 14 are:

  • NS RedForce — 128 points
  • eArena — 122 points
  • S2G Esports — 116 points
  • Aurora Gaming — 113 points
  • Nigma Galaxy — 100 points

The key difference is that reaching the top of the standings no longer tells the entire story.

Under the Smash Rule, becoming eligible is only the first step. A team must then win a later match to immediately become PUBG Mobile World Cup champion.

That makes the next games far more important than a traditional points race.

eArena become Smash Rule eligible

eArena entered the final day with 112 points and needed only ten more to reach the initial threshold of 122.

They have now done exactly that.

Reaching the threshold does not automatically award the title. eArena must win a Winner Winner Chicken Dinner in a subsequent match to close the tournament immediately.

NS RedForce have also moved beyond the original 122-point mark with 128.

Team Points after Match 14 Smash Rule status
NS RedForce 128 Eligible
eArena 122 Eligible
S2G Esports 116 Not yet
Aurora Gaming 113 Not yet
Nigma Galaxy 100 Not yet

This creates a new tactical situation.

NS RedForce and eArena no longer need to focus purely on maximizing points. Winning one of the remaining matches is now enough to end the competition.

S2G and Aurora are close to joining the fight

S2G Esports and Aurora Gaming remain immediately behind the leading pair.

S2G sits on 116 points, only six below the initial threshold. Aurora needs another nine from its current 113.

A strong placement with several eliminations could therefore make either team eligible before the final Miramar matches.

The main challengers now face different objectives:

  • S2G and Aurora need to reach the Smash Rule requirement
  • NS RedForce and eArena need a Chicken Dinner after becoming eligible
  • Teams further behind must combine major point gains with match wins

Nigma Galaxy sits fifth on 100 points, giving the team a more difficult but still mathematically relevant path.

The further down the standings a roster sits, the harder the route becomes because there are only four scheduled matches remaining.

GodLike and Orangutan climb but title hopes fade

Indian representatives GodLike Esports and Orangutan have both improved their positions on the final day.

GodLike now sits 12th with 73 points after entering Day Three on 57. Orangutan has climbed from 45 to 66 points and currently occupies 13th.

Those gains represent stronger final-day performances, but the distance to the championship leaders remains substantial.

GodLike is 55 points behind NS RedForce, while Orangutan trails by 62.

Their realistic focus is therefore increasingly on improving final placement rather than reaching Smash Rule eligibility.

The current lower half also includes:

  • BTR Vitality on 60 points
  • AlUla Club on 57
  • IDA Esports on 52

With limited games remaining, every placement and elimination still affects prize-money positioning.

Smash Rule changes the championship completely

The final day began with six scheduled matches across Rondo, Erangel and Miramar.

Matches 13 and 14 are now complete.

The remaining schedule consists of two more Erangel games followed by two Miramar matches.

The Smash Rule means the tournament can end before Match 18.

Once an eligible team wins a game, the championship is immediately decided. If no eligible roster earns a Chicken Dinner before all scheduled matches are completed, the final overall points standings determine the winner.

That format creates a tension not present during the first two days.

A team could lead by a significant points margin and still lose the championship to another eligible roster that wins the next match.

Assessment

NS RedForce have taken the statistical lead at exactly the moment when pure standings become less important.

Their 128 points put them six ahead of eArena, but both teams are now eligible to end the tournament with a single Chicken Dinner. That changes the final four matches from a conventional consistency battle into something much closer to sudden death.

S2G and Aurora remain the most immediate challengers because both are within single digits of the initial Smash Rule threshold.

For eArena, the goal is simple after leading much of the Grand Finals: convert eligibility into one final winning match.

NS RedForce now face the same challenge.

The PMWC 2026 champion may no longer be the team that simply scores the most points. From Match 15 onward, one perfectly timed victory could decide everything.
