May 27 sees the conclusion of the Pinnacle Cup IV, with four teams left in the competition. Only two will have the chance to compete in the Grand Final on the evening of the 27th.

The Pinnacle Cup IV has given fans no end of excitement or surprises. But four teams are faced with a grueling final day, which plays host to both the semifinals and Grand Final. Only time will tell who out Team Finest, Movistar Riders, Eternal Fire, and ECSTATIC will walk away with the trophy.

Team Finest v Movistar Riders

The first semifinal pits David versus Goliath. Team Finest are a small organization based in Israel without any major successes on their résumé. At the Pinnacle Cup III, they were only able to achieve a 13th-15th place finish. However, they have persevered through this tournament, starting the Play-In stage and working their way to the semifinals. That journey has included going the distance in the Swiss Stage and taking down PGL Major Antwerp semifinalists Team Spirit in the first knockout round. Reaching the final would mark Team Finest’s first appearance in a title game since the ESEA Season 38 European Advanced Division, which they won in October 2021.

However, they will have to advance through Movistar Riders. The Spanish organization already has a quarterfinals appearance at the ESL Pro League Season 15 earlier this year and are looking to add yet another trophy to their legacy. Because of their high seeding, Movistar have played just one match in this tournament, sweeping Isurus in the quarterfinals.

All eyes will be on whether the Spanish giants prevail, or if Team Finest can keep their Cinderella run alive.

Eternal Fire v ECSTATIC

Prominent Turkish side Eternal Fire will look to continue their strong 2022 following an appearance at the PGL Major Antwerp and qualification for the ESL Conference Season 16. A high-seed invite, Eternal Fire have only played a single series as they swept SKADE in the quarterfinals. However, they earned their playoff bye and will prove to be a very formidable opponent.

ECSTATIC battled their way through the Swiss Stage before taking down Apeks and Bad News Eagles to reach the semifinals. The Danish team have seen some success in 2022 but are still looking for their first trophy of the year. However, they have already improved on their performance at the Pinnacle Cup III, where they reached the quarterfinals. ECSTATIC are definitely the underdog when compared to Eternal Fire, but they have shown their tenacity to reach this stage of the competition.

The question will be whether Eternal Fire can continue their strong 2022, or if ECSTATIC can bring more attention to their long-running CS:GO brand.

Team Finest and Movistar Riders open the day with the first semifinal at 1200 BST/1300 CEST. Eternal Fire take on ECSTATIC in the second semifinal, scheduled to begin at approximately 1500 BST/1600 CEST. The tournament will conclude with the Grand Final, currently set for approximately 1800 BST/1900 CEST.
