After winning the BLAST.tv Paris Major with Team Vitality, Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen become the first and the last player to win five CS:GO Majors.

The Danish CS:GO superstar Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen not only assisted Vitality in winning the Paris Major yesterday, but he also set a personal record by winning his fifth Major championship. In light of Valve’s impending move to Counter-Strike 2, the BLAST Paris Major served as the final CS:GO Major, making Dupreeh’s record for holding the most major titles all but unbreakable.

The 30-year-old CS:GO superstar is arguably the most accomplished player in CS:GO history, having qualified for each of the 19 Majors held over the past ten years. The Danish player’s CS:GO career started in 2012, but he first rose to prominence in 2013 after making an amazing quarterfinal showing at the first Major, DreamHack Winter with Copenhagen Wolves.

Despite switching teams multiple times, dupreeh consistently delivered standout performances but was unable to win a Major title for himself. This ultimately changed when he joined Astralis in 2016, just as the company was putting together a Danish superteam that would go down in history as perhaps the most dominant CS:GO team. Astralis’s first Major trophy came in 2017 when dupreeh and the company won the $500,000 ELEAGUE Major Atlanta.

The charged-up team then went on to win FACEIT Major London 2018, IEM Katowice Major 2019, and StarLadder Berlin Major 2019  to become the first team in the history of CS:GO  to claim to win three Majors in a row. In addition to winning many other S-tier events, dupreeh and the company also secured the first Intel Grand Slam of CS:GO in 2019, which was Astralis’ most successful year to date.

Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen, five-time Major champion and a millionaire

Even though dupreeh didn’t receive an MVP award during the four Major championships Astralis won between 2017 and 2019, his presence and reliable rifle performance served as a crucial stabilizing force amid the squad’s frequent short-term lineup changes.

The Danish legend retains the top rank in esports earnings after winning his fifth Major, earning a total of $2,164,164 in prize money from various CS:GO competitions. Andreas “Xyp9x” Hjsleth, a fellow Astralis teammate, is just behind dupreeh with a total earning of $1,996,313.56, according to Esports Earnings.

The next three players on the list, Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz, Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander, and Emil “Magisk” Reif are also from Denmark and had been a part of Astralis’s golden era. Only Oleksandr “simple” Kostylev, a Ukrainian from Natus Vincere who currently sits sixth on the list with a total of $1,718,388.65 earnings, brings diversity to this group of Danish millionaires.
