This time around for round 2, Robin “ropz” Kool took charge and led FaZe Clan back to their feet with a win that pushed the Grand Finals to one last deciding round. Despite magixx and donk performing on fire, the battle in Ancient concluded with 13-6 in favor of FaZe Clan.
Round 3
For the final round of this blazing shootout between two strong Esport teams, the scorching map of Dust 2 was decided upon. It ended up being the birthplace of a champion and the burial ground of the losing team’s hopes and dreams for this year.
The beginning of the round saw magixx and donk taking charge to dominate their opponents. Yet, Havard “rain” Nygaard went beyond his limits to help FaZe Clan remain standing to compete. The battle went on to be one of Counter Strike 2’s most action-packed battles.
It became such a close match where either team could win. The round came to a nerve wracking 1v1 between Dmitry “sh1ro” Sokolov and Helvijs “broky” Saukants. sh1ro emerged as the victor with a clutch shot to seal the match 13-11.
Team Spirit won the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 to get their first ever championship title. As for FaZe Clan, it was a heartbreaking defeat as it is the second time they got to and lost in the Grand Finals—a dream so close but slightly out of reach.
