Star player from Pakistan Arslan Ash has won another Tekken 7 tournament in Japan! After numerous awards in the esports world, Pakistan’s talented gamer Arslan Ash has won another prestigious tournament: Tekken 7 at EVO Japan 2023.

The Tekken master prevailed against the South Korean Meo-IL and entered the history books as the only Pakistani with three EVO titles! Game master and representative of the Tekken series, Katsuhiro Harada, awarded the winner and cash prizes to the players.

Zafina, Kazumi and Geese were his picks

Arslan “Ash” Siddique chose Zafina to defeat Meo-IL, who competed alongside Geese Howard in the final round of the world’s largest fighting game tournament.

The player from the South Asian country has played with Zafina, Kazumi and Geese. Having managed to win both the EVO Championship in Japan and its American counterpart in the same year, he has become an integral part of the fighting game community and has continued to climb the scene.

ESPN voted him Esports Player of the Year in 2019, and today he’s making a name for himself, while his massive wins have propelled him to global fame in the esports world.

Esports Player of 2019

The ESPN website praises Ash not only for his dominance in Tekken, but also for “putting Pakistan on the esports map”.

Ash said back in 2019:

“I’ve been a fan of ESPN’s 2018 Player of the Year ‘SonicFox’ since I started my international career last year. So it’s incredible that I followed suit and became the 2019 ESPN Esports Player of the Year.”

In addition to convincing the ESPN judges, Ash had won the Twitter poll with 60% of the vote and was therefore unanimously voted “The Best Player of 2019”.

He commented:

“Other more popular esports players like Bugha have Twitter followers in the six figures while I only have 25k. But my fans have been totally supportive and I’m very grateful to them all.”

Meanwhile, another Pakistani gamer, Atif Butt, snagged the King of the Iron Fist title after winning the Tekken World Tour 2022 video game tournament; he is also a member of Ash’s team. We will see how the young player can develop further and how he can help Pakistani esports to grow.
