Petrossian added, “currently, the professional scene in this title is undergoing changes, the essence of which we want to assess from within. We are going in without plans for years ahead, but with certain hopes that we can build a stable system, as with our other rosters.”
Virtus.pro’s Chief Esports Development officer Nikita Lutov added more about the hiring, saying, “our new roster comprises some of the strongest players from the European region, who performed exceptionally well in the first regular season of FACEIT League EMEA.”
Lutov added, the main goals for the roster are to qualify for the 2024 Esports World Cup and the Overwatch Major in November.
The Bears will first see action on the playoffs of FACEIT League Season 1 – EMEA Master Road to EWC on June 14.
Virtus.pro is one of 30 teams selected for the Esports World Cup Club Support Program, which gives teams a one-time six-figure stipend if an organization is willing to enter new esports as well as additional funding each year if they drive viewership and fan engagement to the Esports World Cup.
