Over the years, Overwatch has always made Halloween a spooky season to look forward to, and this year’s is no exception. The Overwatch Halloween Terror event is fully raving now, and fans and players are getting creative with their tricks. Reinhardt players, especially, seem to be having a fun time as they have mastered the art of using a particular Reinhardt trick to troll enemy teams and use them as an object of ridicule.

These Overwatch players have learnt to use the trick on the Volskaya Map to activate Reinhardt’s Ultimate ability– Earthshatter. They trick works by disguising as the regular telegraph and voice line and issuing the command, such that the terror unleashes on the rival team without warning.

Recently, Reinhardt players discovered that they can actually use the mailbox lying around at a corner of King’s Row map, to doll out this exact same trick. This trick was first posted on Reddit by a user with the username @geezyclaps. The player shared a video clip of him using the trick to launch an unexpected attack on his opponents while defending the payload. This trick gives Reinhardt a massive level of ultimate, turning him into an unimaginable destroyer.

After going viral on Reddit, the trick got tongues wagging and fingers typing away, as Overwatch fans and players argued that the tactic needs  to be nerfed with immediate effect, as they believed that lots of players will misuse it in the coming days.

Currently, the game publishers, Blizzard, are yet to make any statements regarding the trick, and this is not the first time that fans are getting creative and self-discovering tricks within the game.

Well, while we may argue about the unfair advantage that these tricks confer on players, we would not entirely blame the fans for getting creative with the game, as it seems like the developers are too busy to give the players any new fun features. For a long time, there hasn’t been any new content, so you can’t blame fans for creating some.

In recent months, Activision Blizzard has been laden with a bunch of law suits bordering around harassment, gender-based violence and discrimination, unhealthy working environment and sexual assault. These cases have kept the game publishing company so busy that we still do not have a release date for the game sequel Overwatch 2.

In a bid to clear the company’s image, Blizzard has changed the name of the Overwatch cowboy character, McCree, who was originally named after a real life employee, who unfortunately was involved in the sexual harassment scandal. The hero now goes by the name Cole Cassidy, and the Overwatch team is currently reworking the game’s lore to eliminate every trace of the name McCree, and incorporate the new name Cole Cassidy.

The company has also announced that players can now change their BattleTag names for free within a limited time. Ideally, it costs $10 to change BattleTag name, but Blizzard is giving this free opportunity in the spirit of the name change.

Currently, we do not know how this new cowboy character’s name and his story will affect the game, but we anticipate that it would cause some form of confusion in the short run. However, all dedicated players will at some point get used to it, and players will continue enjoying their favorite game as if there were no changes.

Check out the Reinhardt trick the player posted here. Will you try it out?
