Blizzard has shaken up the Halloween event for Overwatch 2 Season 19 with Haunted Masquerade, a limited-time 6v6 arcade mode. The mode will last from October 14 to November 4, 2025, and replaces the traditional PvE missions with a collectible hero mask system that gives players powers and synergies.
How Overwatch 2 Haunted Masquerade Works

For Haunted Masquerade, you can choose a hero from a select hero roster, and after that, you can choose from several themed masks. Each mask gives a general buff that is usable across all heroes and also grants a bonus effect when combined with certain lore-related heroes. These balances will allow players to strategize who will fill slots in the team comp and how to play the gameplay, awarding more experimental players who explore hero mask synergy.
The mask allows tank and DPS heroes, such as Reinhardt, Genji, Hanzo, and support heroes such as Ana, Brigitte, and Mercy, to be used. An example of the masks would be the Ana Mask, which reduces incoming damage by 15%, but when she is paired with Soldier: 76, he receives the added effect of anti-heal on his Helix Rockets as well. Another example is the Genji Mask, which gives the double jump mechanism to all heroes, while Hanzo receives a homing arrow effect from the mask. You can find other examples, such as a Brigitte Mask that allows melee damage to heal teammates or a Ramattra Mask that slows nearby enemies.

Haunted Masquerade is a uniquely cooperative seasonal experience. Success in the mod relies on how well teams coordinate and exploit unique synergies between Team Heroes. In addition, players who aren’t so familiar with Heroes can utilize the mod to see how different configurations work, without the competitive rigors of Ranked or Quick Play.
