Consoles Preload Size and What’s In Store

For consoles, players can expect the mid-season update to take up 2.46 GB based on preliminary information. It does not take much space, so players will not have to clear space.

Blizzard has not released PC details yet, but it should be in a similar range. The size will, hopefully, smooth out the patch downloading experience on all platforms.

The current Haunted Masquerade season will continue through this patch, with more content and balancing changes. The most notable item is:

  • New Mythic skin for Junkrat: A huge addition, and certainly one of the biggest updates.
  • Hero balancing changes: Various heroes buffs and nerfs will completely shake things up in the meta.
  • Cosmetic rewards, Twitch drops: A limited-time reward based on events and streams.
  • Seasonal content: More new game modes, challenges, and likely returning Halloween-style events.

To prepare for the patch, here are some ways to get prepared:

  • Preload: Try to get the 2.46 GB update when it goes live, rather than waiting to download it.
  • Check storage: Make sure there is some extra storage to allow for small hotfixes.
  • Review hero changes: Go through the patch notes when they drop.
  • Log in early: Collect rewards and limited-time items right away.

The Overwatch 2 Season 19 mid-season update might not be huge, but it’s a solid refresh for players. With hero reworks, the Junkrat Mythic skin, and Haunted Masquerade events continuing, Blizzard’s keeping things active. Console players should mark the date and preload ahead, while PC users can wait for their size details soon. Whether you’re playing comp or just grinding event challenges, this update aims to keep the action moving through the rest of the season.
