Week 2 of Omega League Europe Immortal Division is about to start and now we’re going to see some big matches that will show us what the situation looks like at the top. Week one was more of a warm-up. Most of the big teams had relatively easy matches, in which they didn’t have to play against other big teams. But now, everything is going to change. In this article, I will take a brief look at what the current situation is in the league and what’s in store for the next 4 competitive days (August 20th – 23rd).

Omega League Europe Immortal Division Week 1 Results

Week 1 ended with predictable results: Evil Geniuses, Team Nigma, OG, and Team Secret managed to win their matches, in most cases with relative ease. Alliance got one win and one loss, but that’s because they encountered Nigma early on. Another team that’s expected to do well in the tournament but lost its first match is Team Liquid. Once again, the loss came as a result of encountering the number 1 competitor in the world, Team Secret. As matches accumulate, we will undoubtedly see the top teams gaining more and more victories.

These are the complete results:

Group A

  • 1st: Evil Geniuses: 1 W – 0 L
  • 2nd: Team Nigma: 1 W – 0 L
  • 3rd: Alliance: 1 W – 1 L
  • 4th: 5men: 1 W – 1 L
  • 5th: Virtus.pro: 1 W – 1 L
  • 6th: Natus Vincere: 0 W – 2 L

Group B

  • 1st: OG: 2 W – 0 L
  • 2nd: Team Secret: 1 W – 0 L
  • 3rd: Vikin.gg: 1 W – 1 L
  • 4th: FlyToMoon: 0 W – 0 L
  • 5th: Team Liquid: 0 W – 1 L
  • 6th: Ninjas in Pyjamas: 0 W – 2 L

Based on these results, it’s very obvious that Natus Vincere and NiP are in terrible shape. In particular, NiP lost even against a newly formed squad, 5men. This competitor has good players in its roster, such as PieLieDie, Misery, and Ace, but they still have very little experience in playing as a unit. To see a team like this defeating Na’Vi is a bad sign for the CIS fans and the former TI champion.

OG is the only team with 2 victories after week 1, but these results are deceptive. That’s because OG had to play against the weakest teams in the group: Vikin.gg and NiP. Week 2 will be a lot more difficult for Ceb and his roster.

Week 2 Predictions

Week 2 of Omega League Europe Immortal Division will have some tough matches, but Team Nigma vs. Evil Geniuses will definitely be the derby of this week. If Nigma wins without KuroKy against an opponent like EG, that would clearly prove that they’re capable of winning with rmN- as their captain, even at the highest level. But it’s going to be a really rough match and Fly now has RAMZES to rely on. Personally, I think Nigma’s going to win. Their victory against Alliance has turned me into a believer.
