The first week of OMEGA League Europe Immortal Division is over and the results clearly prove that the top 5 favorites are in great shape and will likely go on to win their groups. In this article, I’ll take a brief look at what happened so far and what is likely to happen next.

OMEGA League Europe Immortal Division Week 1 Results

In total, OMEGA League Europe Immortal Division had 9 matches during its first competitive week. Before the tournament began, the big questions had to do with Nigma’s ability to deliver in the absence of KuroKy, who is missing due to an arm injury, with OG’s ability to succeed with their new roster, and with Evil Geniuses’ ability to make it on European soil. Let’s take these issues one by one.

Team Nigma

Nigma had a huge test against one of the best competitors in the race. Alliance is a formidable team at this point and KuroKy’s squad had to play without him. Of course, rmN- is not a bad player. In fact, he’s a professional himself and knows a great deal about how to win matches and even tournaments. But after you’ve been a coach for so long, it’s hard to get back into the action. Practically, he had to do the same thing as Ceb from OG over the last few weeks and so far, he’s done well.

Team Nigma won 2 – 1 against Alliance and keep in mind, this team had defeated Virtus.pro on day 1 without losing a single map. The next test will be just as hard, against Evil Geniuses, but I think that w33 and his lineup can pass it.

OG

OG had some big roster changes recently. After SumaiL left the organization, Ceb stepped in and people couldn’t wait to see him play. In typical OG style, he picked IO no less than 5 times in two matches. I’m not exactly sure what their opponents were thinking. This team literally won The International abusing IO strategies and they were allowed to pick the here in every single game.

Both Vikin.gg and NiP felt the power of OG. And the show is likely to go on in the same way. Because OG’s next match is against FlyToMoon. This is not a bad opponent. In fact, they’re playing with RodjER as their position 4, which means they have one of the best roamers in the world. But still, OG is the two times world champion and has a much broader set of tactics and strategies. FTM will probably improvise, which is generally a recipe for disaster at this competitive level.

Evil Geniuses

Evil Geniuses only had one match so far, against one of the weakest teams at this tournament, and they did well. A quick 2 – 0 with both games ending in under 33 minutes is a good argument for the hypothesis that they’re ready to get top results in Europe.
