Nodwin Games has received a total equity investment of $28 million from former and new investors, including parent company Nazara Technologies, developer Krafton, and online entertainment company JetSynthesys.

One of the top esports organizations in South Asia, Nodwin Gaming, a division of Nazara Technologies, has raised $28 million in funding from five investors. Together with newcomers Sony Group and Hyderabad-based gaming solutions company InnoPark India, existing investors Nazara, Krafton, and JetSynthesys are also listed as investors.

NODWIN Gaming’s last round of fundraising came in March 2021, when KRAFTON invested $22.4 million in the company at a $135 million value. Following the most recent round of investment in 2023, NODWIN Gaming’s valuation climbed to $349M post-money, representing a strong value growth of 2.7 times in just two years.

The new funding will be used to build newer IPs, increase the emerging market footprint, and make smart acquisitions that add value to the network, according to Nodwin’s co-founder and managing director Akshat Rathee. The gaming and esports industries are expanding quickly, and Nodwin is seeking to strengthen its value proposition as a sports media company with an emphasis on esports, according to a statement from Rathee.

Nodwin Gaming intends to expand beyond South Asia

One of the leading esports companies in South Asia, Nodwin has put together some of the greatest esports events, including Dreamhack India, the VALORANT Challengers 2023: South Asia, and the ESL India Premiership. NODWIN Gaming also served as the host of the Road to VCT, and VALORANT Conquerors Championship, two of the most well-liked PC esports competitions in India, in 2021 and 2022.

Since the event’s debut, a huge audience has tuned in, with Season 1 bringing in over 6 million viewers and Season 2 drawing in 12.2 million viewers in 2022. Also, Nodwin teamed up with Star Sports Network to broadcast the BGMI Masters Series live on regular TV for the first time, bringing esports action to viewers in tier-2 and tier-3 cities. Together with the OTT juggernaut Disney+ Hotstar, the gaming company collaborated with The Game Awards to rebroadcast the ninth edition of the awards ceremony in India.

The Game Awards, which are directed and produced by Geoff Keighley, serve as a platform for honoring the leader in the gaming industry from across the world. Nodwin has offices in Turkey, the Middle East, India, and Singapore and the company aims to expand in other regions as it grows internationally.

The Singaporean affiliate of NODWIN Gaming has recently acquired a controlling stake in the Singapore-based business “Branded” through a mix of primary capital infusion and secondary stock purchases. It is believed that Branded, a live-events firm, will help the business expand its reach to new locations.
