The famous Swedish esports organization, Ninjas in Pajamas, or as we all know it, NiP, has returned to the EMEA region in Riot Games’ tactical shooter, VALORANT, with the signing of three female players ahead of the VCT Game Changers 2023.

Recall that the VCT Game Changers is Riot Games’ official competitive circuit, parallel to the VALORANT Champions Tour, for female and non-binary players.

NiP returns to EMEA

NiP is returning home by signing three players, Paige “Padge” Thomas, Öykü “OYKU” Büyük, and Nelly “Raina” Sosobrado, to compete in the 2023 VCT Game Changers season.

This announcement went down well with the VALORANT community in the EMEA region, as fans were very enthusiastic that an organization like NiP is committed to Game Changers.

While it is true that NiP has been in the VALORANT competitive scene since its launch in 2020, it has never made inroads into the women’s world.

In addition, the organization currently does not have a men’s VALORANT team, as by not entering the VCT 2023 partnership program, they allowed their players to pursue other alternatives.

The announcement of adding these three female players to the team was through the organization’s official Twitter account, where they point out that they are looking for the rest of the players to complete the lineup.

Raina, OYKU, and Padge are old acquaintances

Paige “Padge” Thomas, Öykü “OYKU” Büyük, and Nelly “Raina” Sosobrado know each other well, having played together with Rix.GG Lightning during the 2022 season.

This trio of players finished in 5th-6th place in the EMEA Game Changers: Series III in October 2022, behind teams such as TENSTAR Nova, NaVi Celestians, G2 Gozen, and Guild X.

Following this announcement, Raina spoke out and noted:

“New chapter; y’all better be ready for us; we are coming for that trophy.”

There is no doubt that this trio of players can bring a lot of excitement to this organization. Let’s remember that NiP used to be at the top in FPS games, especially in CS:GO.

It is still unknown which players will complete NiP’s Game Changer lineup for 2023. However, the organization has promised to provide more information in the coming days.

VALORANT Gamer Changers

As in the men’s VCT, Riot Games has decided to make many changes in the Game Changers EMEA.

First of all, they have divided the scene into four levels:

  • VCT Game Changers EMEA: Academy and VCT Game Changers EMEA: Emergents.
  • VCT Game Changers Contenders
  • VCT Game Changers EMEA and Game Changers Championship

This division is to offer a better path to the VALORANT professional Game Changers scene.
