Ninjas in Pyjamas’ star AWPer Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz might return to competitive CS:GO soon, but not likely with Ninjas in Pyjamas.

Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz has reportedly been put on the market by NIP with an asking price of €600,000, which is close to the transfer sum the company is said to have spent to acquire him from Astralis.

Although the organization has not released any official statement on the matter, a report from Jaxon.gg stated that a plan is already in place. Several esports teams and organizations have reportedly already approached dev1ce for initial discussions, though nothing has been finalized.

The heavyweight failed to make an impact

The Danish CS:GO sensation made headlines in early 2021 when his surprise move to Ninjas in Pyjamas was first revealed. Having signed a three-year contract with the Swedish esports organization, the Danish rifler’s move to the NIP was one of the most notable roster moves of the year. Unfortunately, his time with NIP turned out to be a downward spiral for him personally and professionally, forcing him to step away from the competitive circuit and take a break in order to sort things out for the sake of his mental health.

For quite some time now, the Danish marksman who used to be NIP’s backbone has been out of action. Since NIP’s performance at the Group Stage of IEM Winter 2021, the 26-year-old has been on medical leave. In addition to missing the IEM playoffs, he opted to miss the BLAST Premier: World Final 2021, where NIP suffered back-to-back losses and was eliminated early from the competition.

The organization promoted young rifler Love “phzy” Smidebrant from the academy team to fill the position of a dedicated AWPer. However, after three months with the team, the emerging AWPer returned to Rising Ninjas to make room for the 19-year-old rifler Ludvig “Brollan” Brolin.

Dev1ce is all set to make a comeback

Dev1ce is one of the most prominent CS:GO players in the world with four Major titles, two Major MVPs, and countless more achievements to his credit. Although the Danish CS:GO legend hasn’t won any major trophies with NIP, he was an unparalleled force when he was a member of the Astralis roster. Dev1ce has been continuously playing the game on FACEIT since February while taking occasional breaks, seemingly in order to grind the game hard and get ready for a comeback in the competitive CS:GO.
