The second round of the Open Qualifier for IEM Dallas Europe has come to an end and its winners, Ninjas in Pajamas and GODSENT, have secured the final spots in the Closed Qualifier.

Some well-known organizations like Movistar Riders, Sprout, and BIG didn’t make it into the Closed Qualifier. We have the teams for you here!

NiP and GODSENT progress

Ninjas in Pyjamas needed a second try to advance after losing 13-16 to 9 Pandas in the quarterfinals of the first round of the Open Qualifier. This time, however, they edged out ECSTATIC, HEET and Iron Branch before securing a place in the closed qualifier with a 2-0 win over Monte. Daniil “headtr1ck” Valitov was on top form in the crucial series, leading his team into the closed qualifier for the IEM Dallas Europe with over 100 ADR and a rating of 1.47.

GODSENT were the second to make it despite having a very rocky road to the qualifier: The Swedish team narrowly edged out Biskvitki Zakuska and 500 in the round of 16 and quarterfinals.

The promotion game against the EPIC DUDES did not go smoothly either. While GODSENT was able to snatch the Overpass map from his opponent, he was unable to win any significant rounds on their own map, Ancient. The decider was played on Inferno, where William “Draken” Sundin in particular helped win the map with a rating of 1.40 and an ADR of 99.8.

Closed qualifier IEM Dallas Europe

Astralis and sYnck, who have already mastered the first round of the Open Qualifier, are waiting in the Closed Qualifier. Of course, sYnck was able to surprise most of those who still have a chance of a place in Dallas. The Estonian team topped their previous ranking (#201) by beating opponents like Tricked and earning a spot in the closed qualifier. Cloud9, Fnatic, Spirit and OG were already scheduled for the Closed Qualifier and were invited straight away.

There are quite a number of well-known teams that failed in the Open Qualifiers and didn’t make it to the Closed Qualifier in Europe. BIG unfortunately failed for the second time after being beaten by HEET in the first round and GODSENT in the second. Sprout didn’t make it on the second try either. They had lost to Iron Branch and then to IKLA. The Movistar Riders only took part in the first Open Qualifier and were knocked out in the round of 16 at Source2.

These teams will compete in the IEM Dallas Europe Closed Qualifier, which runs from March 31 to April 4:

  • Cloud9
  • Team Spirit
  • Astralis
  • GODSENT
  • Fnatic
  • OG
  • Ninjas in Pyjamas
  • sYnck
