Leading streamer NICKMERCS has this week extended his partnership with FaZe Clan, signing a new 3-year deal with the North American organization. 29-year-old Nick “NICKMERCS” Kolcheff joined the organization back in May 2019, following a difference of opinion with former team 100 Thieves. The move to FaZe Clan has helped the American grow his following significantly, with NICKMERCS now boasting some 4.3 million followers on Twitch.

Why FaZe Clan Has Kept NICKMERC on Board

FaZe have also benefited significantly from their partnership with NICKMERCS, making their decision to hand him a new long-term contract an easy one. Communicating via a press release, the organization stated that the deal “aligns with FaZe’s reach within the sports, music, and entertainment landscapes.” NICKMERCS will now create a large amount of new content under their guidance, with the former Halo professional having started playing Call of Duty: Warzone earlier this year, helping him to grow his following in the process.

NICKMERCS has also competed in a number of tournaments, while he even hosted his own event, the MFAM Gauntlet, which was sponsored by Activision. It remains the most watched Warzone tournament in history, which also ramped up his views on YouTube at the same time. Kolcheff also made the headlines when promoting the popular Got Milk? Campaign, appearing alongside skateboarding hero Tony Hawk.

How NICKMERCS Has Become So Popular

The American first made a name for himself in the Gears of War scene back in the late 2000’s, while his confrontations with Ninja during his time in Halo also helped to raise his profile. NICKMERCS moved into streaming in 2010, beginning on Justin.tv. He developed his YouTube channel just a year later, creating content surrounding Call of Duty and Outlast. At one stage, he held the record for total kills in Fortnite with 54, with his skill at the battle royale game helping him to earn $130,000 in prize money. Having parted ways with 100 Thieves following what the streamer said were broken promises, NICKMERCS became the 10th highest earning gamer in 2019.

His profile was boosted yet further when he played Fortnite alongside New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley, with further publicity stunts likely to follow in the future. The partnership between FaZe Clan and NICKMERCS is certainly going from strength to strength, with the next three years set to deliver yet more exciting content, something that will undoubtedly please his ever growing following.
